About this listen

The System School Complete Series Box Set is 67+ hours of Magic Academy LitRPG adventure set around a boy who accidentally summons a young sorceress.

Melvin Murphy is your average everyday teen... until he finds the System.

Melvin has normal problems. High School. Tests. Trying to find a girlfriend (and failing... miserably). But one day he awakens with access to a System that governs all magic.

In his attempt to summon a teacher to show him the ropes, he botches the ritual and accidentally summons a magic-wielding girl named Kalliphae. Sure, she's powerful and deadly. A femme fatale who's more intimidating than even the most popular girls at school.

But she's FAR from a teacher. She's the same age as him and clueless about Earth. Can you say perfect team?

System School is in session... Don't miss the special edition bundle of this lighthearted and often hilarious LitRPG Series about how two kids from different worlds grow into their own while surviving things like classes, bullies, vampires, and worse.

These books are a light-hearted low-stakes adventure. Over 65hrs for 1 credit is incredible value. The only thing I didn't really like was the running theme of Kalli's jealousy whenever Melvin merely looks in the direction of another female, be she troll, goblin or human Kalli always has a jealous comment to make. However the single time Melvin feels a little bit jealous, in a situation that I doubt anyone would actually feel jealous, he is immediately shut down by Kalli. In every jealous situation, and there are many many situations, Kalli must be reassured and coddled. by the 4th book it was really getting on my nerves.

A Mostly Enjoyable Read/Listen

First of all, a bit of a misleading description. the MC isn't an average high school student, he is autistic or at least at the spectrum. The problems he has is bullying and having a overworked single mom. At no point is he actively looking for a girlfriend.

The premise is really good, but the MC is just so freaking stupid in every aspect.
from the way he uses his money, his powers and the way he acts socially.
i have been listening for a couple of hours and my forehead is red from all the literal facepalming.

Allow me to make an example; MC learns that monsters are real and that in order to see them, you need a special buff from the local guild to interact with them [BIG WARNING SIGN: When buff is applied, the monsters can also see YOU]. What does he do? Yes, that's right, he gives himself the buff, with his cheat powers, for no reason and forgets all about it.

The book is also already hinting that the series is going to end up in a "save the world" scenario which i'm not a fan of.

There is great value for your credit though, 67 hours content for one credit is insanely good.

The MC is so dumb

the first few books were great fun, even though the author doesn't seem to know what to do with women besides make them a piece of the male fantasy. the last few books seemed like the author forgot what he was writing about. he left behind worlds systems and plots to ramble a bit. it was a struggle to finish the series, but it was a fun start

great first few books. solid value

The story started out ok but the MC is utterly stupid without an ounce of common sense. I litterally facepalm with every decision he takes. 1 credit for 67+ hours is good but the MC is so frustrating.

Diary of an idiot

I enjoyed the books to fill my time and I was getting interested in a lot of the plot points, then it came to the end of book 5 and there was around 3 entire plot points I was hoping to hear more about that were totally forgotten, realised I was getting no answers or closure.

disappointing for sure but the value makes it worth the effort for lovers of the genre.

Good value though Author forgets plot points.
