I got this book because I wanted to get into homesteading. I live in the big city and it can be so challenging to live more aligned with nature but this book has so many strategies to help you learn how to raise small livestock in the big city and grow greens in your backyard. Highly recommend!

It’s crazy how we’ve lost so many of these skills in just a couple of generations, this book is literally filled to the brim with useful information for your journey into self-sufficiency. I particularly loved the gardening section which is where I am starting. It was great to hear so many options for different-sized spaces as well as the storing options for produce and some handy recipes. I’m so excited to try the shampoo and conditioner recipes and get started with some basic sewing and mending. A great book!

Growing up in Africa and seeing how to grow greens is different from how the book gives it here, it gives a different approach to all people living in the cities and small houses in the suburbs to be able to grow greens and everything from backyard greens to raising small livestock like chicken. The book gives insightful tips that can help to grow your greens using modern technology and a few traditional skills.

this book has everything you need to get started. as the author highlights you can grow something pretty much anywhere - even in your small flat!

In this book you will learn everything you need to get started: soil requirements, light requirements, most common issues and how to overcome them, succession planting, etc etc

same goes for raising chickens, goats, ducks, etc. all info and things to consider are discussed.

Overall, great combo of info you need to get going with your garden, I'm excited for the spring so I can get planting!

This book is so refreshing - it reminds me of my happy days living in the countryside. I like the practical strategies of using low-cost household supplies to maintain the garden.

I feel the author presented a range of options and possibilities so that there is something for everyone. The section on beekeeping is so interesting!
