I was so very wrong.
Instead I found a wonderful tale about a man that works behind the scenes being forced to take direct action and a smattering of compelling characters that he surrounds himself with.
The story masterfully manages different perspectives with many chapters told from the perspective of the side characters giving us greater insight into who these people are and how the events that unfold impacts them.
I also was thoroughly impressed with the range and skill of Rebecca Woods as she absolutely nailed the narration and not only successfuly performed at least 3 different dialects in an convincing way but also sung with such expensive emotions that few modern music artists are capable of!
All this combines into what is the best and most original superhero story I've had the pleasure to experience for years!
I will definitely be looking forward to the next audiobook in this series!
