Definitely worth the read!!

Great read if you want to fully understand the importance of habits and exactly why and how they can make us excel.. I find I am looking forward to implementing some of his habit suggestions now!

Straight to the point

I usually don't purchase any audiobook that is under 4hrs length but made an exception for this. I'm someone who's already very organised but unfortunately I started slipping on productivity due to having kids etc.

This book goes directly to the point & doesn't faff around. Found myself writing down a lot of notes due to how practical the scenarios & advice were. I'll be implementing quite a bit of the strategies especially in my goal to read at least 40 books this year.

One distinct area which stood out for me was how the brain in all its magnificence can undermine you without you even knowing it.

"For all of it's glory & genius, your brain can be a stubborn selfish, lazy brat sometimes. Until you fully train the habit, your brain will try to sabotage you".

The only negative comment about this audiobook is that in his narration, he repeats an area he'd already read. Got me a bit confused - apart from that, it's definitely a recommended read if you're looking to grab life by the cajones

Worth coming back to

If you're struggling for motivation, but desire to improve any aspect of your life, this is good place to start.
It's not perfect by any means, and it's not going to change your life on its own, but it will give you enough ideas where to start and what to do, that it should help you.
The reading is a little monotonous at times, but overall it's fine.
It's also one of those books worth coming back to, to remind yourself of its messages.

Loved it and smashed through it in a day or two. would highly recommend it as a great place to learn how to build new habits.

very useful self development book

I've read a few books in my time in the area of improving yourself and this is one of the best. very practical, not at all repetitive like many of the genre. I don't know much about the author, he's some sort of "blogger" but he's condensed the nature of habit into something understandable and given examples of many useful habits worth adopting and the pros and cons of adopting them and ways of doing it and the risks to staying on course.
I rarely write reviews but I felt I would here because this book might help someone.

Life changing!!!

Does exactly what it says on the tin! Since applying this I've been able to exercise every day, and wake up at 4:30am and go straight for a walk. Now those two habits are almost automatic I'm adding meditation into the mix, Tynan's method makes it effortless! Thank you : )

Useful book

Love the content of the book. Good examples. However, there are production mistakes that annoy me in the Audible version.

Some Gold Nuggets But Very Distracting

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Had some good ideas but might be better to read the actual book as the performance was distracting.

How could the performance have been better?

There were weird cuts where the author/narrator messed up and didn't even finish the sentence. He also wasn't the best performer. It sounded like it was read in the guys basement with not great equipment (which I kinda suspect is the cast). For me it was quite distracting in trying to soak up the info.

Reads like a self-published e-book

I really liked the concepts in this book, and it's nice that the author spells out exact examples of how to implement them. I can also appreciate that the author is narrating his own book, and that is the only reason I gave the performance 2 stars instead of 1. Authors are not the same as performers, and so when an author narrates their own book, mistakes are more acceptable because they are really writers, not narrators. Bad narration can be made up for by good editing, but this book doesn't have good editing. At one point you can even hear the narrator ask himself how to say a word. This audio book is cheap and it's obvious when you are listening to it. But I guess you get what you pay for.

A good addition to your habit formation library

Any additional comments?

I've spent several months finding, reading/listening to every book I can find about habit formation. Some are rich with science to back up why habit formation is at the core of who we are. Others, like this one, are practical, down-to-earth and easy to digest.

Be a superhero (by habit)!

Short but intense dose of motivation and techniques for habit forming. One of the books that I finished listening to in 3 hours. It's impactful precisely because it's not too long. I love list of specific habits - pros, cons and path to form them. "Forming good habits so that we do the right things on auto-pilot is the way we can be closest to being a superhuman". Loading & maintenance phases for any new habit formation was a new concept for me.

Might Listen to this Monthly

Short enough, but most importantly, concise and critical at every turn. Really great information that, if it gets into your psyche and you act on these suggestions bit by bit, you’re going to be super human. Amazing.

Straightforward and Relatable

Very good advice was given. My favorite parts were understanding that habits use up less of your willpower and that triggers can form both good and bad habits, so create triggers for the good ones. I look forward to listening again.

Great book but NO EXCUSE for the production issues

Narration:
At one point during the narration the narrator stops and says to himself "Why cant I say this word?" and then doesnt even finish that sentence. There are 2-3 other instances too in which the narrator fumbles or pauses. How hard would it have been to re-record sentences before putting it up on audible for people to buy?

Book:
A great practical approach to building long term habits especially for young individuals who have a strong habit of procrastinating.
