Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
Who and what are supercommunicators? They're the people who can steer a conversation to a successful conclusion. They are able to talk about difficult topics without giving offence. They know how to make others feel at ease and share what they think. They're brilliant facilitators and decision-guiders. How do they do it?
In this groundbreaking book, Charles Duhigg unravels the secrets of the supercommunicators to reveal the art - and the science - of successful communication. He unpicks the different types of everyday conversation and pinpoints why some go smoothly while others swiftly fall apart. He reveals the conversational questions and gambits that bring people together. And he shows how even the most tricky of encounters can be turned around. In the process, he shows why a CIA operative was able to win over a reluctant spy, how a member of a jury got his fellow jurors to view an open-and-shut case differently, and what a doctor found they needed to do to engage with a vaccine sceptic.
Above all, he reveals the techniques we can all master to successfully connect with others, however tricky the circumstances. Packed with fascinating case studies and drawing on cutting-edge research, this book will change the way you think about what you say, and how you say it.

Very enlightening
The narrator being the author really adds to emphasising his points. Well thought out and set out. The author has done a great job at communicating his message.

Great framework for understanding and thinking about communication.
Great framework for understanding and thinking about connection. Easy-to-listen to audio, and great story telling throughout. Loved it, would definitely recommend as we can all use a bit more mindfulness and awareness around how we communicate!

Essential
Sleep for 8 hours. Put yourself in the other persons shoes. See things from their point of view. Ask how the felt about working, living, creating, being or doing. Genuinely listen and show this by asking “if I understand you correctly..” Repeat this with everyone you interact with. The level of engagement from people increases 10x. Just finished the audio book and about to relisten while I walk.

Perfect balance of knowledge and storytelling
I picked this book to listen to without any expectations. I didn't have previous experience with communication/psychology literature, but I had a prejudice that such literature is boring and not all that informative. Nevertheless, I got interested in communications recently so I decided to give it a try. My biased opinion couldn't have been further from the truth - Supercommunicators is filled with knowledge coming from personal experience of many people, many scientific study results, and personal expert opinion. However, the information flow is never overwhelming, and the book managed to keep me more engaged than any other audiobook I've listened to thanks to the brilliant storytelling.

clear and informative
This book is a good jumping off place for this kind of thinking about human interactions. Much of the information is available elsewhere but it is packaged well and in a form that makes it possible to action the authors suggestions and improve your communication style.
