About this listen

Best intentions can go suck it.

I walked into a dark alley with the best of intentions, and look where that got me. Drugged, kidnapped, and thrown into a world I didn't even know existed.

Now I'm being held captive by a hot as sin vampire, whilst trying not to be killed by his wife, and, oh yeah, he's the leader of the Russian Mob and I'm suddenly a target. Go me.

Safe to say, I'm not sure I'll do anything for anyone ever again.

Follow Benji as he learns about vampires, the Russian mob, and tries to dodge a knife-wielding soon-to-be ex-wife. There are curse words, graphic sexual scenes, and lots of blood (hey, it's a book about vampires...)

For mature listeners.

I loved this story. It’s full of drama, sass, and spice! The narrators have done a wonderful job at bringing this story to life. John Hartley brings the dark, brooding nature of Damyr through and Mac Rae shines with the bright character of Benji.

I really enjoyed listening to this story and it’s been one of my favourites since it came out. Definitely one to listen to if you like MM with vampires and morally grey characters.

Mafia romance with bite!

Audiobook Review of Sunshine and the Vamp by Bailey Grayson

Dual Narration by Mac Rae and John Hartley

Both narrators were new to me. I thought they both did a terrific job portraying their characters and I definitely want to check up on other titles they've done 🥰

The blurb for this book had me hooked...a Vampire who was also Mafia? YES Please but unfortunately this book didnt slap the way I thought it would and I was left a little disappointed and bored. This was a 300 page/7 hour book so plenty of time for character development and plot development but still after finishing this I didnt feel connected to the MCs. I felt their relationship was very rushed and didnt have a connection for it at all. There are a lot of side characters (presuming for other books) and I found we got more interaction from them than our MCs. The plot for the story was good but sadly not executed the way I thought it would be. I thought this would be a little dark considering its Vampire/Mafia but I didnt find it dark at all.

I'm sad that this wasnt for me but not every book we will love and thats okay.

I didn't hate it, I definitely think the author had something going, just didnt hit for me the way I thought it would.
