My first impressions looking at this Sunny Springs High school series was that it would be teasing and teen drama in the high school newspaper office... what we got was must more in the same vein as Veronica Mars but presented like 90s Sabrina solving crimes with Harvey.

Helena is a fantastic heroine, shes supportive of her friends and her empathy for the plight of girls in her school coupled with her determination to get justice and balance the scales was done in a way that didn't make her unlikable or air-headed.
When her best friend is possibly the unfortunate subject of a heinous video on an underbelly club run by guys targeting the girls they either drugged or hooked up for sex shaming and humiliation.

She is all systems go to solve the case and it all gets complicated when Karen reveals she may actually be pregnant, and Daniel, her boyfriend bares a strikingly resemblance to one of the jerks in a video on the CR Clubs secret website.

Its deals with hard topics without getting gritty or dark.
