From USA Today bestselling author Devney Perry comes a sweeping Western romance about undeniable attraction, unforeseen circumstances, and seemingly unbeatable odds.

My first day in Montana, I got into a tug-of-war over a grocery store shopping cart. The most handsome man I’d ever seen broke up the scuffle before he asked me on a date. I was seconds away from accepting but then he told me his name.

As an owner of the Haven River Ranch, Jax Haven wasn’t my boss. But he wasn’t not my boss either.

Obviously, my only option was to turn him down, scurry away, then pretend like he was a stranger on my first day of work. And obviously, I could never, ever admit that he was my secret crush.

For as hard as I work at my job, I work twice as hard to pretend Jax doesn’t exist. I don’t let myself think about his dazzling eyes or charming smile. I refuse to acknowledge how good he looks in a pair of faded Wrangler jeans. And as tempting as he is in a cowboy hat, Jax is a distraction I cannot afford.

Everything was going according to plan until the annual holiday party. Until I drank one too many flutes of champagne and let him sweep me off my feet. After a night in his bed, there was no more ignoring Jax Haven. Not when I’m pregnant with his baby.

A good instalment in the Haven Ranch series the narration of this book was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to these two narrator. The story was a little angsty which is why I only gave it four stars but I still enjoyed it.

Good book

The story was good but I can’t stand it when the author keeps a “secret” until near the end, worse, Sacha kept it from Jax. It wasn’t a make or break secret but it was drawn out for me as the reader/ listener. The emotional content was there but I didn’t feel it, and the chemistry between the main characters was lacking from my own reading/ listening. I’m an emotional reader but I felt like I was going through the motions listening to it. The whole “tell me a lie” / “tell me a secret” hook feels a little over done/ lacks originality.
Some of the things the MMCs did/ say were questionable, especially Jax’s reaction to seeing his ex as Sacha’s doctor, then questioning her if she ever delivered a baby before minutes before their child was born <cue major eye roll>; Lily didn’t say why she never wanted Jax to call her mom, and him saying that if a horse had behaviour issues they’d have to go (twice) irked me because he was supposed to be good with horses.
The narration was done well, and nice to be back on Haven River Ranch again, not sure if I’ll continue this series but I’m sure many others will enjoy this story and series.

I really loved this story and the narrators did such a great job! The ending was a bit rushed, but overall it was so great. It was a quick and easy read and had all my emotions going, I definitely recommend it!

4,5 stars!

I was extremely curious for Jax's book, especially since he seemed like he could be a bit of a turd based on Crossroads. However, I ended up actually liking him and he was a lot more mature than I initially thought!

This was a clear he falls first book with Jax trying to wear down Sasha while she was determined to just last a year in Montana, possibly save up some money and be gone as soon as possible. Jax did not definitely make it easier for her, especially with him technically being her boss, because she would prefer not to get mix up in anything personal and just get by.

The Eddie tale was a constant mystery that was only revealed at the end of the book. I had my suspicions but I have to admit I would have never guessed that Micah was Eddie's counselor at the youth camp! I would have preferred to know Eddie's story sooner but, on the other hand, that is one of the elements that kept me intrigued with this book.

I like audiobooks but I feel like it is too easy for me to be a bit distracted when listening to them compared to reading physical or e-books. I have a feeling that, despite this being an accidental pregnancy book, I would have liked the physical book even more than the audiobook. And I really liked the narrators so that did not take away from the book itself!
