Summary

Summer Bright is just a name on a tombstone. A whispered mystery on the long-forgotten Woodbury Lane. Her ghost teases me with fear and perfection. She knows I'm not strong enough to do what I should've done years ago.

The Bullets are united once more, bonded by their demand for blood. There's a vulnerability in their friendship though. Gavriel craves control. Blaise fears losing me. Ryker fights his guilt. Callum's moral compass will get us killed.

Chesterbrook may be where the old me died, but it's also where I learned that hell isn't a place: It's a person. And if we aren't careful, our plan for revenge could go up in smoke.

Fantastic!

Wowza! This book is fantastic! Sunshine is back with The Bullets and Callum. And there’s a lot of hurt, anger, and guilt to overcome as they learn the reason why she had to disappear. It’s thrilling and exciting and I can’t wait to read book #3.

breathtaking

It's not often that book 2is better than the first, but this one definitely was. I love the Bullets and Sunshine, and their dynamic. This series is amazing and I need more!

Mystery continues...

This is a great romance with lots of good steam. The main character can get on my nerves ever now and then with her quick turns into "I just need you." But the I need to know what's going to happen next with the storyline over shadows those hang ups completely.

Excellent continuation

Summer and Smoke is the second book in The Bullets series and continues right where book 1 left off. The Bullets are all reunited in this novel and the story will have you hooked from beginning to end. It takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and non stop action with these fascinating characters. The story was gripping and engrossing and a fantastic continuation to the series.
I listened to the audiobook version of this novel which was narrated by Jo Raylan and Benjamin D Walker. These two continued to do an excellent job with the narration. They had excellent pace and timing and really brought the story to life. It was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.

Jo Raylan breaths life into Sunshine

Summer Bright is dead, a name on a tombstone. But Sunshine lives. And she's back with the Bullets. They are all together again, all focused on bringing her father down. It's turning out to be harder than they thought because he's protected by Santobello who is determined to take back Gavriel's business. But when Paul Bright reveals one last secret he brings out the darkness of the most reluctant Bullet and his fate is sealed. Unfortunately, there is collateral damage.

I didn't love this second book as much as the first one. I felt like it moved too slowly; like maybe this series could have been better as two books instead of three and we wouldn't have so much time waiting for the next move. I also felt like Sunshine was a bit too lost in her own head way too much of the time. I would have preferred time between her and the guys rebuilding their relationships to her lost in her thoughts. It still feels that there's such reluctance and distance between her and the guys. They are devoted to her but do they like her, love her? Not the girl she was, but the woman she is. They think she's beautiful, they loved her as teens, but do they even really know her now? Are they in love with the idea of Sunshine? Are they following Gav? And the scene Nyx created for Sunshine and Blaise was not for me. It may not be cheating and it was consensual but that's not my idea of love. I would love more between all of them beyond sex and memories.

I have to give a nod to Uncle Joe. Love this grumpy man and his Mrs. Joe. I wanted to adopt him myself.

I look forward to the final book. I'm hoping the Sunshine who survived for years on her own finds her place among the Bullets. I want to see more of the girl who stood up to Callum and less of the self-doubting victim. Enough with the counting, own this world. Take your place beside the Bullets.

Jo Raylan and Benjamin D. Walker did a great job. Jo especially had a unique sound. She showcased the self-doubt and weakness Sunshine felt for the majority of the book while still making us believe there is a spark waiting to ignite within her.

Good

Enjoyed, but this book Sunshine just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. I let having to skip over some parts as I just kept thinking OKAY WE GET IT!!! Other than that, it was good!

Another Winner!

This series just keep getting better. The suspense and action kept my attention. I love, love, love Gabrielle and his controlling self. Things start to really heat up in this book. I also love Sunshine's best friend Nix. Narrators did a great job.

2nd in series...⭐️Twisted&Awesome⭐️

The story continues in this 2nd installment of the Bullets, the connections between the characters are further explained, occasionally visiting their pasts & first meetings with Sunshine. I really enjoyed and looked forward to those parts as it gave new perspective to relationships and deepened the storylines of each.
Loved this 2nd book, yes there was action, suspense, erotic and steamy sex, leaving us listeners wanting more!!!
Gavriel is the most interesting to me, the most layered I would say of all the Bullets.
Can’t wait start book 3 and am doing so now!
If I could recommend a book series to listen to if you are jonesin’ after this series I would highly say author Amo Jones “elite kings” series

Not much a fan

Usually I’m a fan of Coralee June books but found this series kind of hard to get through. I’m not sure if it’s the narrator or just the story itself. I feel like it drags. The main character is annoying at times. I only finish up to book 2 and won’t be listening to book 3.
