Summary
Christy Miller Series, Book 1
As 14-year-old Christy leaves her family's Wisconsin farm to spend the summer at her wealthy aunt and uncle's home in Newport Beach, she hopes this will be the best summer of her life. When she meets surfer Todd with his screaming silver blue eyes, she's certain it will be. But when the summer doesn't unfold as Christy had hoped, she wonders if she'll keep her promise to her parents not to do anything she'll regret. Will she do anything to get Todd's attention, to be accepted, to force her summer to give her everything it promised?

Wonderful Story
I loved listening to this book. I read them as a high schooler and fell in love with the series. It was nice to reminiscence. The performer has a nice voice, but there was several times she repeated herself, and there was a lot of background noise like dishes, eating, and cabinet door opening and closing. It distracted from the book.

Great story, problems with performance
This is my favorite author and I love the Christy Miller series. However, the editing done on this recording is awful. Several times during the performance lines were repeated and a few times you can hear background noise, like someone was working nearby. Very disappointing.

Production issues
I love Robin Jones Gunn's books. This one in no exception. I read the Christy Miller series back in the 90's, so to have it on audio is fun. Mrs. Gunn's characters are believable and the story line is realistically wholesome while not being too graphic. The only problem with this audio version is that there are several places where there's overlap in what's read as well as some background noise.
