I absolutely love Bella Matthew’s books, and Striking was no exception. This one pulled me in from the very start and had me hooked right through to the end. It has that perfect mix of plot, character development, and spice that Bella does so well — honestly, it was chef’s kiss all the way through.

Bellamy and Rhys’s story was such a joy to discover. I loved the accidental marriage trope at play here, but what made it even better was the weight and responsibility each of them carried. It gave their romance real depth — you could feel the tension between what they wanted for themselves and what their roles demanded of them. Watching how they navigated that together made the emotional beats land even harder.

And can we talk about the side characters for a second? Jocelyn, in particular, was a standout for me. She added that spark of humour and levity that balanced out the heavier moments, and it made the whole story feel richer and more layered.

The audiobook performance deserves its own round of applause. The narrators absolutely nailed it — from the accents to the way they gave Bellamy and Rhys such distinct voices, it felt like the characters were truly alive. The chemistry, the banter, the emotional weight — it all translated so beautifully through their performance.

I love love loved this one!!

It made me fall in love with royal romances all over again!! Rhys was absolutely everything! I just wanted to wrap him in a giant hug, he carried so much for so long, and was so fiercely protective of those he loves! I loved that he was the ‘proper heir’ around others but he was fun and dirty mouthed around Bellamy!

Bellamy was sweet and fun and absolutely perfect for Rhys! Basically everything he could’ve possibly needed! I loved that she sassed him from the beginning and didn’t tiptoe round him!

This was the perfect end to this series!

Both of these narrators are new to me but I absolutely loved them! I thought that Will Thorne captured both of Rhys’ ‘sides’ serious as the King and then soft and sweet with his Little Bee!

Stephanie Cannon really showed Bellamy’s kind and caring personality, she really captured all of Bellamy’s emotions!

Who said drunken weddings only happen in Vegas? Bellamy Wilder was about to learn they also happened in the kingdom of Mornea and when you’ve accidentally married the crown prince then like a puppy, it's for life. I loved the character of Rhys Windsor. On the surface the dedicated King in waiting, former Airforce fighter pilot, and drop dead gorgeous to boot, but underneath the trappings and regalia lurked a tattooed, dirty mouthed rebel ready to give it all up for the woman he loved. He’d fallen hard and fast for Bellamy, his little bee and if he had to rule, he’d be doing it with her by his side or not all. Despite appearing throughout the series and related to several characters either through blood or marriage Bellamy has been a bit of background character but she shone here. A dedicated nurse and cancer survivor, she knew the direction her life was heading but she hadn’t counted on Rhys and almost before she knew what was happening, she’d gone from a vague offer of employment to Queen of all she surveyed, a role that in public she owned as if she’d been born to it and in private she had the support of the crown ‘spare’ Atticus and I loved the sibling relationship she developed with him. Now all she had to do was tell her overprotective brothers that their baby sister wasn’t coming home.

I honestly thought with Striking I would miss the familiar setting of Kroyden Hills and the extended characters but after a couple of chapters I’d forgotten all about it. After all familiar characters were all only a phone call away. With a king who will bow to no man but is more than happy to get on his knees for his queen and in the throne room no less. As for his queen……well she’s more than happy to return the favour, the Red Lips and White Lies has gone out on a high. Although just saying there’s a certain Prince Charming named Atticus just crying out for his very own Cinderella.

The inspired casting of Stephanie Cannon and Will Thorne as dual narrators for this audiobook truly paid off. As newcomers to me, they both delivered exceptional performances as Bellamy and Rhys, with Will bringing a particularly regal depth to his portrayal of Rhys that perfectly captured the character's royal stature.

This audiobook surprised me! I normally am not really a fan of royal romance, but I loved this audiobook and this story. It's a beautiful tale of following your gut feeling and going against the odds for love. I really liked the narrators of this audiobook as well. I feel like they honored the characters fantastically!
