The courageous groups of teens made their way home in a post-apocalyptic adventure story of survival after an EMP had virtually shut down modern technology across North America. What they find there after their long, dangerous journeys leaves them stunned.

Their reunion begins in a hail of gunfire and only gets worse from there. The teens are shocked to learn that their town is under siege and their families, friends, and neighbors are being held hostage and some used as slaves. After witnessing the pain and suffering of their people, the group has to decide just how far they are willing to go to free their loved ones.

I am really enjoying this series, the peril certainly has increased in this book and the actions of people faced with each situation are often startling (especially Lisa's mother!!)
This book feels like it has a comfortable ending - but I have discovered that there are 3 further books in the series that I must investigate
