Story
Rose Grahame had everything Alex D’Arcy dreams of. A handsome husband, a stunning home and a baby boy with twinkling blue eyes and a smile that would brighten the darkest of days. It’s a stark contrast to Alex’s life - her dead-end job, her borderline addiction to drink and pills, her failed engagement and her cluttered flat. But the women’s lives are about to collide - and nothing will ever be the same again.

Story
The wonderful first novel from the critically acclaimed author of The Sleeper and The Sisterhood. It's New Year's Day and the year isn't kicking off well for Tansy: her mother's dead, she's a cocaine addict and her boyfriend has just left her. A trip around the world seems like the only option except that she's not interested in seeing the world, just escaping from it, and the last people she wants to hang out with are backpackers.

Wicked Girls
I must admit when I first started this book as a lot of books they do the prologue which then leaves you dangling for what seems like a very long time, I found myself longing to know what happened you will see what I mean, it does infact come together and brilliantly too, its very clever and well written these two girls have a second chance in life but like most things the past does infact catch up with them in the most bizarre way very gripping well read loved every minute highly recommend this book.

A good listen, glad I tried it.
What did you like most about Stranded?
It was just a nice easy listen, kept me interested. I felt I cared for the characters and I like that there was more to it than just a "castaway" element.
Any additional comments?
I listened to this book in one straight weekend. I spent two days painting or baby's nursery while 28 weeks pregnant and the story was enough that I kept painting through the tiredness just for an excuse to keep listening and find out more. I think this is a sign that it is a good enough story.

COMPELLING
FASCINATING
SURPRISING
Any additional comments?
As a confirmed "whodunit" fan, I was in two minds whether to try this book, but I'm so glad I did... it has started to wean me off the Detective genre. Very well written - the lead character is SO like one of us in her thoughts and feelings... From the first, this book draws you in and although I thought I knew where it was going - I did not. Finding herself stranded at the beginning of the book I was afraid it would be tedious but far from it...A very clever plot line. Try this book - you will not be disappointed.

Enjoyable
Any additional comments?
Really easy book to get into and keep listening. Good descriptives all through but I became especially engrossed when actually 'stranded'. Thought the stranded bit would take up more of the story as that's the title and was a bit disappointed it didn't as I liked that part. However the overall story was good, I enjoyed it and I have listened pretty avidly - which is wonderful after feeling obliged to persevere with some well-marketed tat recently. So thumbs up from me for this story!

That's my Tom Hanks from Castaway impression.
This was a great listen. I'll not give away too much or I'll ruin it for you. A group of folk take a day trip out to a secluded island as part of their holidays in Malaysia. Something happens to their captain and they are left stranded. Was it a mistake, was it deliberate, who knows?
I found this a really atmospheric audiobook and could easily picture myself on the island with them, you'll enjoy it.

Kept me guessing
What did you like best about this story?
I really liked the unexpectedness of the plot and how it made you question yourself. It is too easy to second-guess plots these days but this one had lots of surprises with twists and turns that kept me guessing.
What about Antonia Beamish’s performance did you like?
She was pretty good with accents.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Be careful what you wish for!
