I feel so much more prepared!
I found this book through an interview that Lorelei did (somewhere on the internet) and so I knew I had to listen to it! I am an avid reader and was thinking about audiobook narration because I have so many skills that align with the industry. BUT I hate the sound of my voice on recording. I've realized that after listening for a bit it's just because I wasn't used to it and I tend to get nervous and really rush my speech. Listening to this book, especially the outtakes, made me feel so much better. I know I have a natural inclination for storytelling and now I just have to work out the technical bits and practice practice practice. Thank you for this book!!

Solid on Performance Art
King offers a great overview of the performance art in a succinct, yet sufficient manner. The only thing lacking is the business side such as realities of compensation or the time and tools for those that edit their own narration. I don't have real numbers, but I'd suggest the vast majority of new narrators will be doing their own editing at first.

Thank you for putting this book together and sharing your experiences. As I begin my own journey narrating my own children’s chapter book series, Fraydo The Dragon, I learned valuable narration tips on character voice development and story telling techniques.
It will be a challenge but I look forward to fearlessly digging into the project (thanks to your encouragement).
