I bought this book as a serial for my granddaughters’ regular short visits. I started it with the eight year old who was totally absorbed by it. Two things make this book an Outstanding Must Read/Listen: the beautifully described detail of the forest and the intriguing troll language created by Rachael Lindsay and the exquisitely expressive narration by Caroline Colbert, who brings the characters so fully to life for us it made me read on when the girls were back at home! I’ve always thought of trolls as goat-scaring baddies, but this book offers new insights as trusting Finnr discovers that the ‘big people’ in the town are not all good...
