About this listen
Giving up her fiancé and her old life, Tess has moved to the country to start afresh. When she crashes her car into Miles' breakdown truck, they find that they're nearly neighbours yet worlds apart. Despite a suddenly attentive ex- fiancé, she discovers the joys of village life and begins to form a friendship with Miles. Then, just as their relationship deepens, an old flame comes looking for him....

the narrator kept stopping mid conversation which was odd but you get used to it.

Good read

I enjoyed listening to this book, and thought the narrator did a great job of bringing to life the various quirky characters of Middledip, who are still being written about in newer books by the author (which I love!)
Both main characters, Tess and Rattie, are flawed (Tess and her running from situations she finds difficult, and Rattie in his need to manipulate things and people around him to achieve his ends), however I liked them both and even though I was frustrated by them for significant portions of the book (first him and then her) I was willing them on towards their happy ever after. There were great supporting characters as always.
Well worth a listen.
