Big Star Trek story, not well condensed
I read this story many years ago, and liked the character development, rich story line, and intricate plot. Well, it didn't translate into a 90 min script, and just lumped together a bunch of unlikely alien features that made an unremarkable story. The narration was great, though, Scotty (Doohan?).

Read this novel several times, mr Doohan does an amazing job on the reading, but the story is missing so much that this was NOT worth the credit i spent on it . DO NOT WASTE YOUR CREDIT

Wish it wasn't condensed.
I read this book years ago when I was first getting into Star Trek. The side plots and character development were so incredible and the story itself wove its way into my imagination. As such, when i saw it was on audible i was so excited, However now i cant bring myself to finish it. the whole story has been removed and all that is left is the bare bones plot line. In fact the book is so unrecognizable I actually had to look up to see if i was still reading the same book. Doohan did and incredible job with every voice and all the narration, but the script itself felt hollow.

The Prime Directive.
I get these when I have a coupon or everything is on sale. That being said these stories are great. James Doohan pulls you in. It’s like listening to an older episode. I have to admit I’ve never read the unabridged. That being said, this is definitely worth the price of a movie.
