About this listen
Months after the dramatic events seen in the 2009 blockbuster film Star Trek, the crew of the USS Enterprise—including Captain James T. Kirk, First Officer Spock, Doctor Leonard McCoy, Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott, Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu, and Ensign Pavel Chekov—is called back home. But an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has declared all-out war on Starfleet and everything it stands for, leaving Earth in a state of crisis. Now with a personal score to settle as a result, Kirk must lead a covert manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction. As these valiant heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Captain Kirk has left: his crew.
Would you listen to Star Trek Into Darkness again? Why?
No I'm afraid not. Good story but not enough differences in characterisations. What was one of the most memorable moments of Star Trek Into Darkness?

studied, bit dullAny additional comments?
Definitely the wrong person to read this type of story. Hasn't the oomph needed for this. Not the right reader for this

Whilst I am sure Alice Eve is a very good reader for other types of books, I found her to be completely mismatched with this style of story. The first hour was a real struggle. It felt like being read to by my teacher in junior school and I kept expecting to be asked to spell a complicated word at the end of each sentence. As i found my way into the story, I became more willing to put up with her stye of reading, but it remained irritating right to the end.
The story as a whole is enjoyable. But again the reader's interpretation detracts from the various, despite listening to it once, I will delete it from my library.
So in short: worthwhile for the story line but hard work to listen to.
I would be very interested to hear how other listeners felt.
mismatch of story and reader

What about Alice Eve’s performance did you like?
I love Alice's voice and accent yet I understand why others think this may be mismatched. This is a story with so many male characters so sometimes I think is it inappropriate asking a female performer to read this? But I really love her voice so... It's quite strugglingquite enjoy it
