I loved Devon Daniel’s first two books, so was really looking forward to this. It’s shorter than the first two, and for me the story was a bit too under-developed and obvious (I know she says romance writers get accused of this sort of thing all the time). It lacked the character development that her other books had. I missed the build up. We went from hate to love really quickly and then the angst was not that angsty! I’ve listened to her other books again and again, but this is a one and done. Good for a quick holiday read. The audio performance was great though.
