Summary
In the wake of their terrifying escape from Fairhaven Hall, sisters Jess and Hannah Ballard find themselves on the run, pursued by the two most powerful groups in the history of the spirit world.
On one side, the Durupinen, determined to capture the girls and prevent their role in an ancient prophecy that promises to destroy them and unleash the spirit hordes on the earth. On the other side, the Necromancers, ancient enemies of the Durupinen, hell-bent on bringing the same prophecy to fruition. great story & characters...production & sound poor
I have re- reviewed...felt guilty as slated before due to book 1 narrator changing...the production of sound is poor and the narrator at times. Other reviewers commented similarly on accents. However this shld not affect the story which turned out to be great, exciting and enticing. The accents actually were not too bad and I ended up admiring the narrator; Scottish accent to American, to posh English to cockney in a few sentences was impressive. Just some American prononciations in English annoyed me like missing much needed constanants!!!!!! loved Savvy to death, and Milo. Also, a few similarities were had with the rathes & Harry Potter, & a other films BUT still, only similarities...was a great story.

Better read than heard.
I love this series as far as story line goes but- oh my gosh- the narrator’s accents are nothing short of offensive and deeply uncomfortable. I’m Scottish and live in the U.K. and not one of those supposed accents sound remotely like anything anyone speaks here.
The Scottish and cockney accents in particular are so bad I longed for those sections to pass quickly.
I’m going to return to reading these instead of listening.
