Synopsis: Journalist Petra is investigating the urban legends of New Orleans and stumbles across a tattoo shop, run by Dax, a man covered in cursed and alive tattoos. And by getting too close, she finds herself the new target of the curse!
I feel this story really leaned into the creepy and spooky vibes. I loved the New Orleans setting, the hollow man and the catacombs! This is such a good story for spooky season!
And the dynamic between Petra and Dax was fantastic. Their love language is very much bullying, and I loved their banter! Even when they were hooking up they made me laugh!
The curse and the adventure to find a the witch was a fun plot. I wish it had been a longer book, but the author managed to cover a lot of ground in a short story. It was very insta-obsession / love as a result though.
And this was probably my favourite narrator duo so far! It was a duet audiobook which I always love and both narrators suited their characters so well!
All in all, very intrigued by the author and if she will do anything else in the magical world in the future!

This was such a fun little read! I love J.T. Geissinger’s writing anyway and Spicy Little Curses didn’t disappoint. Dax and Petra had amazing chemistry right from the start — total opposites but drawn together in the best kind of “you really shouldn’t but you can’t help it” way. It’s steamy, addictive and fast-paced with a supernatural twist that gave it something a little different from her usual stories. The writing was sharp, the banter was perfect and it was just the right length for a one-sitting read. If you like your romance with a bit of danger, magic and spice, this one’s worth picking up. I only wish it had been a bit longer because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them yet!
