I really enjoyed listening to SpellBlade 2: The Ember Throne. The story has a great mix of magic, action, danger, and adventure, and the stakes feel much higher this time around. Jake’s growth into a Blademaster and leader was one of my favorite parts because he feels much more confident while still having plenty to prove.

The whole idea of the Ember Throne and the ancient power beneath the volcanoes kept me interested. There’s a constant feeling that something terrible is coming, which made it easy to keep listening. The audiobook also worked well for the story and made the battles and tense moments more engaging.

Overall, this was a fun and exciting sequel with plenty of fantasy action. If you enjoyed the first SpellBlade book, this one is definitely worth adding to your listening list.

I had a great time listening to this sequel. I liked seeing how much Jake had grown since the first book, and it made me even more invested in his journey. The story had plenty of action, but it also gave the characters room to develop. The volcanic setting and new enemies kept everything feeling fresh and exciting. The narration made it easy to stay engaged, and I found myself wanting to keep listening. If you enjoyed the first book, I think you'll have a great time with this one too.

There's a little bit of a complex story going on here. I enjoyed the intrigue, magical imagery, suspense...I could go on but I think you get the point. A fantasy world with other worldly players. I would recommend listening to the first book and then this one. But even with not having read the other book it was easy to follow. Be prepared to be glued to your seat I found it hard to press stop.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's a high stakes fantasy full of rich, vivid language and fantastic plot twists I didn't see coming. The characters are realistic with interesting story lines and complex backstories. The narration is well spoken and enjoyable. Jake Martinez is a beautifully written character who I enjoyed rooting for. I definitely recommend this.
