About this listen

"A perfect blend of science fiction and alternate history"

It's 1977. New York cab driver, Mike Redolfo, is abducted by aliens as a result of a mistaken identity and is now stranded on planet Vost.

Back in 1944, World War II rages. The architect of the Holocaust, Heinrich Himmler, is about to order the execution of all concentration camp prisoners, while a mysterious man and his Jewish fiancée are fleeing Nazi occupied Prague.

How are these two men linked?

Unable to return to Earth, Redolfo manages to find a job. His taxi is modified for air travel and he starts work as a cab driver, ferrying the planet's diverse alien species around the capital city. His luck runs out again, however, as he unwittingly gets involved with a shady gang of alien criminals, and discovers to his horror that his actions have brought the planet to the brink of catastrophe.

With millions of alien and human lives at stake, the link between the two timelines becomes clear.

Determined to undo the harm he has done, Redolfo discovers secrets from the past that could hold the key to saving the planet."

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was a little unsure initially, how the past and future juxtaposition would work out, but having listened to this book I am so glad I gave it a try as it works very well. I particularly enjoyed the alternate past. I found all the main characters likeable and was rooting for them from the start. I am looking forward to more from this author. Definitely recommend.

Interesting plot Well worth a read

Outstanding narration in a sci fi story that cleverly frames its holocaust sub plot.Great fun.

A taxi ride in outer space with a serious historical nod

The first thing that struck me about this story was how good the narrator was. A good narrator can save a mediocre book, but in this case that certainly wasn't necessary. The main hero,Mike Redolfo was a well formed likeable character and I was expecting a simple colourful tale of him adjusting to his new reality after being abducted. The next chapter threw me a curveball when it started introducing elements from nazi germany and the plight of the jews. I worked out the connection quite quickly which was well thought out. Mike himself is a very likeable character even to aliens who instinctively trust him and assist him and I'm sure I would have done the same. I actually met the author at a comic-con in York, England and thought I'd give his efforts a chance and I wasn't disappointed. I look forward to more of the same

Excellently weird tale stretching across spacetime
