Summary

After being sequestered to a bunker to recover from his wounds, Lee Harden is finally going topside with his fellow Project Hometown Coordinator, Terrence "Tex" Lehy. Lee wants to ally the UES with Texas, in order to combat the threat of a powerful oil cartel to the south. But Tex's methods raise serious questions, and Lee quickly discovers that Texas has its own set of problems.

In the Fort Bragg Safe Zone, the conflict with the Lincolnists is rapidly escalating. Master Sergeant Carl Gilliard has just returned, and he’s intent on destroying the Lincolnists, using whatever means are necessary.

Angela is caught in the middle, unable to reconcile her sense of civil morality with her desire for justice. One thing remains certain: before there is peace, there will be blood.

Blistering work from DJ Molles as always!

First christian Rumal is the perfect narrator for this series, very well read and perfect voice style for this series.

The continuation of the remaining series storyline, D J molles weaves great characters into his unique setting in a brutal, nail biting, violent tale. Mandatory listing to increase your testosterone levels.

Gut punch

The Harden series stated off brutal delivering gut punch after gut punch and southlands does not let up. DJ Molles does a great job of showing peoples humanity and the lack there of. I became physically mad at what was happening because I was so invested.

1/2 a book

I have read the entire remaining series and love it however this book is a bit of a miss. It feels more like a mid season finale or half a book. It is also getting exhausting having “brilliant and savage” men trumped by political turds and bad guys whose plans, it seems, always work out. I didn’t feel quite the gut punch others are describing, maybe because the “ending” was easy to see coming?

the blackhawks

The description of the whole blackhawk and Lee escaping was unbelievable! Can't wait to see wait Harden is going to do in the next book.

Not bad, not great either

Not as good as book 1, too much dialog and little action. Boring to the point of putting it down for days. I hope book 3 is better.

Good work

I enjoy these books. I cannot say anything more that differs from my other reviews. Since Winslow's fall, Molles is my favorite author.

Excellent read

D.J. Molles always brings it and Southlands is no different! I've followed him since the beginning and always enjoy his work. Southlands throw a curve or two in the mix. Recommended read.
