The only problem is present tense perspective, which confuses me. Most books I read are in past tense, but the present tense kicked me out of the spell of the story a few times. But it was a really great and the lengths Caidence goes to save Noah is just extraordinary and I can’t wait for the next book.

I am not a fan of first-person, but the fast-paced nature makes this better than most. I should have got the sample first to realize the first-person thing. But it was a good book and I would definitely buy the third one.

Where was Noah? The book, as good as it may have been, didn’t have any of the romance that I was expecting. And then Caidence just went and risked her life around every turn even though Noah was not there to protect her and she never had any protection plan from the beginning. It was a heart pounding, stressful book to listen to, but it would have been much better if there was some more Noah.

Most books get boring if there is a lack of romance between the characters. But this one was all about potentially reestablishing a relationship in danger of being lost, so it felt complete without Noah taking part in it much. In fact, it was refreshing seeing all the things she could do by herself. If you want an awesome read that shows the strength of women, this is it for you!

You need to buy this book if you are looking for a book that will be on your mind for a month. I always know to wait until I have indefinite free time to read something from this author and this book was no exception. It never slows down and is always entertaining.

I am always on the edge of my seat during this.
