Story
I'm a 64-year-old retired lawyer and former Assistant Attorney General with an unusual story to tell. Every word of it is true. It happened in a state park known as Devil's Den. For fear of losing my job and damaging my reputation in the legal community, I never spoke about the incident. If it hadn't happened to me, I'd be skeptical too. In 1977, I was an active duty NCO in the USAF. A friend and I planned a two-night camping trip to explore the wilderness. We drove deep into the forest until we came to a high plateau. There on the horizon sat a perfect triangle of three very bright stars....

Story
What is the nature of unidentified aerial phenomena? Forty years ago a small cadre of dedicated researchers began actively investigating cases, interviewing witnesses, and exchanging data through a small, informal network of international contacts. Today this low-profile network, or "invisible college", has grown into a larger, multination volunteer research effort joined by many individuals. But the questions first raised 40 years ago remain current - and unanswered.

In late 2017, scientists at a Hawaiian observatory glimpsed a strange object soaring through our inner solar system. Astrophysicist Avi Loeb conclusively showed it was not an asteroid; it was moving too fast along a strange orbit and leaving no trail of gas or debris in its wake. There was only one conceivable explanation: the object was a piece of advanced technology created by a distant alien civilisation.

For the past 170 years, schools across the world have been targeted by UFOs. These are not simple fly-overs. In these cases, the objects hover for long periods at extremely low elevation, often landing next to the school. In many cases, humanoids are seen. Elementary schools, junior high and high schools, colleges - all have been targeted.

Story
Of the many books on UFOs and aliens, this one may be unique. Richard Dolan, one of the world’s leading historians of the UFO subject, has analyzed the different alien types and agendas based on longstanding patterns observed by witnesses. This is both a careful review of the best evidence we have of human-alien interaction, as well as a bold speculation of just who the aliens are and what they want. Dolan’s analysis starts with our ancient prehistory and potential genetic modifications and monitoring by extraterrestrials.

Story
When this work was first published in 1970, it shredded the then-trendy nuts-and-bolts extraterrestrial hypothesis for UFOs in favor of one that linked UFOs to a variety of paranormal and supernatural phenomena that have taken place throughout history. Keel was one of the first to note that the UFO phenomenon appears in different disguises - and that one could not begin to decipher this great mystery without first taking into account its many and varied deliberate deceptions.

Story
In Dimensions, Dr. Jacques Vallee reexamines the historical record that led to the modern UFO phenomenon and to the belief in alien contact. He then tackles the enigma of abduction reports, which come from various times and various countries, as well as the psychic and spiritual components of the contact experience. In the last portion of the book, he notes the factors that inhibit research into the phenomenon - the triple coverup and political motivations - and concludes that the extraterrestrial theory is simply not strange enough to explain the facts.

A Very Deep Introspection
- By Bruce R. Fenton on 20-01-21
Summary
In this updated and expanded second edition, Ryan Sprague revisits many and introduces new stories of those who have seen extraordinary things in our skies and how these incredible events have changed them.
While reports of UFOs and close encounters are littered with dates, times, and descriptions, they rarely focus on the people who've had the experience. Could both the positive and negative implications, whether subtle or revelatory, further our knowledge of what these phenomena represent?
Through detailed testimony from credible witnesses and insight from those in the psychological, academic, and scientific fields, Somewhere in the Skies: A Human Approach to the UFO Phenomenon weaves together a story of stories, attempting to get to the heart of these mysteries one experience at a time.

A new take on familiar themes
Self-identified UFO "experiencers" have been telling stories for many decades--this collection presents new tales about this old theme but without new insights into the phenomenon itself. While it's difficult to dismiss all of these storytellers as dishonest or delusional, it's also difficult to listen to their outlandish stories about sightings, abductions, and spiritual awakenings without wanting more skepticism and objectivity from the author. What, for example, is the difference between a reliable narrator and an unreliable one? Should we take seriously each and every UFO story, or should we be selective? Are stories themselves ever useful evidence --or proof--of a particular phenomenon? Frankly, there's no shortage of tall tales out there for people who are willing to listen to them, but listening doesn't necessarily get us closer to understanding what, if anything, is actually happening in the skies.

A pleasant surprise. A really good book.
Ryan does a great job of telling stories.
The approach is fresh. The passion for judgement free investigations was inspiring.
Almost a feel of the old Keel books.
Well worth the time.
