When a valuable scarab belonging to an American millionaire is absent-mindedly stolen by Lord Emsworth, young writers Ashe Marson and Joan Valentine are tasked with infiltrating Blandings Castle to retrieve it. Meanwhile, vacuous Freddie Threepwood worries that some compromising letters may scupper his engagement to the millionaire's daughter. Wodehouse's comic masterpiece combines above and below stairs pretensions with all the fun of a romantic thriller.

Martin Jarvis is an award-winning British actor and the 'Olivier of audiobooks'.

Martin Jarvis really is wonderful reading Wodehouse, he does all the voices so brilliantly, his voice is pure golden honey. A good Blandings story with some laugh out loud moments, or rather laugh out loud quarters of an hour. loved it!! Good tonic to escape lockdown.

lovely one!

I was worried that having someone read it would spoil my picture but I needn't have worried.

Immaculately read, by the best narrator around. Beautiful sentences, superb comic set-pieces, wonderful characters. The real deal.

Another hilarious romp in the Blandings series. I love the Blandings books and find them much funnier than Jeeves & Wooster (which I also like very much). Narrator, Martin Jarvis, is excellent as always. Can't wait to Listen to the next one.
