THE GRIPPING NEW NOVEL FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR MICHELLE MCDONAGH

As her adoptive mother lays dying, journalist Cara Joyce overhears a shocking piece of information about her origins. It connects her to a tragic death - that of Lucia Casey, a young woman whose body was found buried in a Connemara bog nearly thirty years ago.

To this day, Lucia's disappearance and murder remains unsolved.

Cara's quest to find out the truth reunites her with the powerful Casey family. But as her obsession begins to take over her life, she finds herself increasingly at odds with those around her.

Who is behind Lucia's death and what are they hiding? And what will Cara risk in the present to solve the mysteries of the past?

Critic reviews

A quintessentially Irish story of secrets, lies, shame and protecting reputations
Somebody Knows, Michelle McDonagh's powerful second novel, is a dramatic exploration of the bonds that tie families together across generations
With some very powerful moments, capturing tenderness, drama and trauma, Somebody Knows is a compelling tale, another well-crafted story from this Irish writer who is slowly staking her claim as the 'Queen of Irish Rural Noir'

I listened to this author’s first book and was bowled over by how good it was, this is also a winner, You can recognise the people she writes about, we all know the ‘types’, and she describes the Irish community well.Although I did figure out part of the mystery, it was still a compelling listen, beautifully narrated, I’ve just pre ordered her new book

Loved it

I adored Michelle's first book, so I was so excited to see she has written a new one.
I enjoyed every moment of the book, but I wasn't left as shell-shocked by the ending as I has been reading the first book. I think I had figured out what the story was turning into to quite early on.
Regardless, i am very glad I made the purchase . Can’t wait for more from Michelle

I was not expecting the final twist

I love the way the story weaves deeper and deeper with more secrets. And even when you don’t think you can be shocked again… oh yes you can. Fantastic narrative as always. Cant wait for the next book.

What a brilliant author Michelle McDonaugh is.

I said about the author’s previous book - best I’d listened to in a long time - this one is as good if not better! The story is totally believable, full of intrigue and clever enough you don’t guess the plot!

The narrator is brilliant, perfect for the story, I found myself laughing out loud when she came out with the typically Irish turns of phrase!

I await with bated breath any more books from this author, and hope the same lady narrates.

Buy this audiobook, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
