About this listen

FITZ WILLIAM DARCY WOULD HAVE NEVER IMAGINED the depravity dwelling in the hearts of those he thought he knew best. On the run from hired killers, he is forced into hiding in the mean streets of London with the only person he can trust being Elizabeth Bennet.

LEFT BEHIND IN KENT, Elizabeth Bennet is still reeling from Darcy’s presumptuous marriage proposal when she discovers the plot to kill him. Leaping to the gentleman’s aid, she helps him go into hiding and then sets about trying to learn what she can of the plot against him—all of which reveals, gradually, new insights into Darcy’s true character.

FALLING INTO A CLANDESTINE CORRESPONDENCE, she and Darcy share pieces of their hearts and together discover family secrets that could shake the very foundations of Darcy’s being—and put Elizabeth in mortal danger. Afforded a second chance at the sweetness of love amid the foulness of evil, will their romance prevail?

On the whole I enjoyed this, a very different variation as Darcy is forced into hiding.
A few annoying plot loose ends - 1. Colonel F at one point says the Matlocks are broke and laying off servants but we never find out why? 2. The baddies give themselves away in front of Colonel F suggesting he's involved but actually he's not? 3. Elizabeth and Darcy are TOLD that something awful happened in the Pemberley library but ignore this information and happily go on using the library for TWO YEARS before "accidentally" discovering something? If I'd been given that information I would have been ripping the library apart the moment I got to Pemberley!! Massive plot holes.

Entertainingly different variation

I love this very original and suspenseful pride and prejudice variation. Perfectly narrated by Stevie. This will be added to my relisten pile

Suspense and originality!

The best thing about this audiobook is the cover. The plot is really farfetched and the interactions between the characters is sometimes stilted. Stevie Zimmerman reads well.
