Story
Private investigator Mackenzie Williams' newest client is everything he's looking for in a guy--charming, beautiful, intelligent, and successful. There's only one itty bitty problem: the guy's not exactly gay. In fact Jordan Channing is looking for a PI to follow his fiance. The smart thing would be to thank Jordan for his time, turn Mr. Perfect away (don't let the door hit you on the rump, thank you very much), and forget he exists.

I’m a man with too many secrets, so the last thing I need is a new roommate with a sexy smile and blue eyes that see right through me. Eight years ago, Roderick left town after high school. We’re not friends. I owe him nothing. But back then, I let one of my secrets slip, and he’s the only one who noticed. Part of me knows I should run far, far away. Every bartender should follow one simple rule - don't go home with the customers. That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar - also known as me. Still, I’m not keen on breaking my own rules since I know where that can lead - no place good.

Summary
Screenwriter Noah Ashley has a few four-letter words for his agent when she suggests he improve his script by shadowing a PI. Still, because he's an artist dedicated to his craft and she knows where the bodies are buried, he agrees. Then he spends a little time with the gorgeous PI, and suddenly it seems like a really good plan. The PI doesn't seem to entirely love the idea, but Noah has never been afraid to go after what he wants.
PI Drew Rodriguez is used to people depending on him. He's the classic rock for his family. Responsible. Dependable. The classic rock would never succumb to the borderline sleazy temptation of friends with benefits, no matter how sexy that temptation is. Drew is looking for something enduring.
Despite Drew's misgivings, it's not long before they've got all the requisites for friends with benefits going. Friendly, good conversation? Check. Fun times in and out of bed? Check. Hot, electrolyte-sapping sex? Double check. Falling in love? Yeah. About that....

A Great Story...
I so enjoy a story in which the author provides a plethora of backstory that endears the primary characters to the reader/listener and Harmon does a great job in this book. Noah and Drew are such great characters and of course I was routing for this pairing. The wit and sarcasm of each character is great and one cannot help but want a HEA. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. Great second edition to this series...looking forward to the next installment.

Great narration made an ok story fantastic.
What made the experience of listening to So into You the most enjoyable?
The narration. Michael Stellman has a youthful, vibrancy to his voice that truly encapsulated the characters in this story.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Aside from the narration I enjoyed following along as both Drew and Noah grew exponentially from where the story started to where it ended.
Have you listened to any of Michael Stellman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have and it was just as good. As I said above, his vocal tones really fit for younger characters and storylines. He doesn't do a ton of different voices per say, but he manages to change tone just enough to make it easy for the listener to know when there's a change in POV.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
So Into You is perfect.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed the push and pull between the two MC's and how there was a role reversal in a way toward the end. Both men have pasts that make it hard for them to trust in love or commitment. They also both share parental issues, though for different reasons. Noah was adopted, though he's reconnected with his birth mom. He just can't understand why she is happy with twin girls and getting ready to get married, and yet, she couldn't keep him. And then Drew has the day late, dollar short dad that's in and out of his, his brother and mother's lives more than he's in and out of prison. It was wonderful to sit back and listen as they grew closer, challenged each other and ultimately fell in love.
The story was slow and tedious in places, dialogue and inner monologues that drug on excessively. I thought that perhaps this book could have been an hour or three shorter, the story tightened up a bit, and this would have easily been a 5 star for me. Stellman's narration pulled my rating up though, it was fantastic. His voice itself is young and fresh, his tones generally full of life and energy, much like Noah. And though Drew is a bit older, wiser and jaded... Stellman really conveyed every facet of his personality and I loved that.
Definitely worth a listen especially if you read/listened to book 1 or are a fan of the narrator.

Continuing an Excellent Series
What was one of the most memorable moments of So into You?
I think the moment that was most memorable for me was when Mac moved in with Jordan. A minor moment over all in the progress of the story, and as this is not Mac's story, it's something that is focused on, however seeing Mac and Jordan's story continuing is something I was wanting to see.
What does Michael Stellman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His dedication to each character's voice makes each of the main characters one I will remember.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Fantasy, reality, and when the two meet.

A+ rating...
My Review:
Overall: 4.75
Performance: 4.25
Story: 5.0
Why oh why have I let this book languish in my TBR when it was so good? I just had no idea just how good it was going to be. Such a gift sitting and waiting for me to read at just the right time.
OMG, just like the first book in this series, I ADORED this book. It was so good, so snarky, so much just pure fun to read and enjoy. Honestly, read that story description...it has this book nailed. It was so good.
What isn't mentioned in that description is that Noah's agent is also his ex-wife. I loved their relationship so much. They're friends...in fact, Noah has stayed friends with almost all his ex's, except his most recent one that nobody else liked anyway. But he's a casual guy, more about right now than long-term, and his hookups respect that about him. He also lives his life in Hollywood. That world kind of prevents anything lasting to have a chance...to last.
Drew is the opposite. He's all about commitment. He just hasn't found the right guy for that. His life is a bit chaotic. He's former military who now works as a PI. He has a younger brother that he's basically raised because dad was in prison...and suddenly both those guys are back in Drew's life throughout this book. (Drew is used to be a loner...having his not necessarily welcome family living with him is throwing a wrench in everything about his life.) He's the solid guy that everyone counts on for stability. He doesn't deal with change or chaos well. Ever since Noah showed up, he's had nothing but all that, and Drew doesn't have any patience for that, so he shuts Noah down at every turn.
I loved the conflict between them at the beginning of the book. It built up some fantastic sexual chemistry between them. I listened to this one on audio and loved every single minute of listening to it. But I just ordered it in print, because this is a new favorite that belongs on my keeper shelf. LOVED IT and HIGHLY recommend it.

enjoyable but could have been better
Any additional comments?
This book would have been better if it was shorter and thus quicker paced. I think the whole first hour was just back story, and there continued to be a lot of that throughout the story. I enjoyed the narrator, but he needs to do more to distinguish the characters. A few times I caught myself wondering which character was supposed to be doing the speaking.

Good story but...
I enjoyed the connection between Drew and Noah. As much as their pasts were different, the similarities were there as well: childhood lost, lost of parents, finding their way in life with little or no guidance. However, I felt there were too many loose ends regarding Noah's parents.
I loved reading of a bisexual character who wasn't looked at as being confused or unable to commit.
The narrator's voice was just right for these guys. I also, like the new support characters and the appearance of Jordan and Mac. I'm looking forward to book 3.
