Summary

With foreclosure on her home looming and the Geddes Animal Rescue at risk, Sarah Geddes will do anything to save her land from being destroyed for handsome tycoon Mike Cavender's multi-million dollar real estate development. Sarah has learned the hard way after escaping an abusive relationship that she can't trust men.

But when Mike is snowed in with Sarah on the very piece of land they are both fighting for, she can't deny the electricity coursing between them. As for Mike, well, he has no intention of falling in love again after losing his wife in a car crash four years ago - especially not with the one woman who stands between him and his life's work. Still, something about Sarah Geddes has him realizing that even when they're snowed in, things can heat up quickly...

Their desire keeps them hot even in the cold of winter, and this time, she won't be saying no... Soon Sarah realizes it's not just her home she is in danger of losing to Mike Cavender - it's her heart.

Sweet 'Sexily *Evers* After' story :-)

I liked that this wasn't the usual Shoshanna Evers' storyline (she normally writes more erotica style tales) - this was a sweet story about trying to hang on to wonderful past memories with loved ones long gone, but realizing you can't live in the past and have a happy future with a new special someone.

Loved the use of beautiful upstate New York (my old stomping grounds) :-) and the dogs Sarah cares for with her animal rescue shelter. Very enjoyable characters with angst and the right touch of humor mixed in.

Perfect winter storm time listening!

What a hoot! The U.S. is seeing the worst winter storms in years, and Audible publishes Shoshanna Evers' Snowed In story! What timing! ;-)

This was a great find for me - 'snowed in' myself at home and looking for a romance taking place in winter. The characters are great as always, though the story could have taken place over a longer period of time.

And being an animal lover, I loved how Sarah the main character takes them everywhere with her. Highly recommended listening!

Wanted to like it

This is a case where the narrator ruins the entire story for me. I tried really hard to like it, but her terrible narration gave me a headache. I never got into the story. I usually take a few minutes to lose myself in the story and forget that I am listening to someone reading to me...I never accomplished that with this story.

Narrator

I have never turned off an audible book because of the narrator. Even after reading reviews on other books of awful narrators i would still purchase because i have never found one so annoying as the narrator of this book! This is a first for me. I cant tell you how the book is because i haven’t been able to purchase a copy to read, and i cannot listen to another minute of this one.

Certainly not the best book out there

The narrator of this book made it hard to listen to. Reading books for Audiable should be a performance , it should sound like an actual conversation. Half the time it sounds like shes narrating a BBC nature show and the other half sounds like a very breathy dramatic stereotypical romance. Like the voice you would make when making fun of a romance novel. It doesnt do the book any favors at all and makes it hard to like the story.

If you can look past that, the story premise is pretty good but could have used a little tweaking. I dont think she should have allowed him to come back just like that at the end. Make him sweat, this girl has been through hell and back, give her a little backbone. I'm not saying she should have sent him away but make him beg a bit, prove he wants her and their relationship before the "I forgive you". What he did was very hurtful and the way the narrator read the heroine line made her sound like a doormat, on top of the fact that she was acting like a doormat.

Overall, the story was good, it was the ending and narrator that ruined it for me. It could have ended the same HEA but give the girl a little fight, he deserved to be put in his place.

Narration was Bad

Great story but the Narrator Sucked! Monotone throughout the book! I did tolerate it only because of the Story.
To Author, How about a do over with a better narrator. it makes a big difference when listening.

UNBEARABLE narration + insta-love

I'm not one to complain about bad narrators, I usually stick it out and try to focus on the story, but this one is by far THE worst narration I've ever come across. I don't understand why the narrator does such unusual inflections, surely they must be aware it sounds unpleasant?
The story is ok, there's more going on than two people getting snowed in but overall it's insta-love, which I'm personally not into. If that's not your preference then it's definitely not worth suffering through even a minute of such torcherous narration.

The narrator is pretty awful

I haven’t finished the book yet, I actually haven’t made in past the first chapter yet but the narrator raises the question as to how she got a job as a narrator. She reads as if she lacks knowledge on proper grammar, every word is it’s own sentence. Perhaps it is just a stylistic choice but her voice sounds as if she is effecting a male persona even when the female character is talking which is more than a little confusing at times.
