Summary
Groomed and procured by a woman, raped by several men and labelled 'one of the most abused girl in Rotherham', now Elizabeth Harper is fighting for answers as to why so many people paid to protect our children simply turned a blind eye.
Aged just 15, lonely and bullied by her peers, Elizabeth ‘El’ Harper felt like an outcast. But then a chance encounter in the street with a friendly woman suddenly brought hope to her world. A friendship between El and this benevolent stranger blossomed, and life began to feel worth living again.
As the months passed, El grew more and more distant from her family. One day, she didn’t return home to her parents at all …
Snatched is the shocking true story of how a young girl was taken from the streets and groomed into Britain’s biggest sex-trafficking ring, all at the hands of a woman.
It is also an inspiring account of how trauma can turn vulnerability to strength in the most extraordinary of ways.

A brilliant account of a truly awful time
Well done Elizabeth for taking on the so called authors that are suppose to look after our children. I have listened to many books concerning young girls that have been groomed by these men & although most have been brought forward to pay for the crimes they have commented many are still at large. Britain on a whole is too soft with these men.
Books like these need to be in schools & talk about too help children understand the danger they can get them selves in.
Well done as well for taking the BBC on although in one way they did help they also caused a lot of trouble by someone making sure your name was not known.

Horrific....
and heart breaking storyline from start to finish. The narrator was very good at using different voices for the people in the book.

Shocking this happened to Elizabeth and to so many
Shocking story. However, I cannot sometimes understand why Elizabeth didnt go back home but again I my self never been in a similar situation so cannot totally understand it all.
I liked the book however it just went on and on and on. Specially the first few chapters could have easily been made in just one.
The narrator's accent is annoying and I swear the words IN FACT are said in the book around 20 times.
I found the writing used very basic.

Heartbreaking
Absolutely heartbreaking but with hope at the end. This should never have been allowed to happen but SYP were so scared of being accused of racism it actually became racism reversed against the victims and those who try to help them.

The bravery of her parents, herself and Risky Business
A book to be listened to.
A family who never gave up, trying to free their daughter, against all the obstacles the SYP placed in their path.
A very brave and loving father who should be so proud of himself.
A lesson for all of us about what dangers are out there for our children and what little protection there actually is for victims.
