About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

In this audio short story, also available in the complete Jack Reacher short story collection No Middle Name, #1 Sunday Times bestselling author Lee Child goes back to 1989, when Jack Reacher is serving as an officer in the military police.

A young lieutenant colonel, in a stylish handmade uniform, roars through the damp woods of Georgia in her new silver Porsche - until she meets a very tall soldier with a broken-down car.
What could connect a cold-blooded off-post shooting with Reacher, his elder brother Joe, and a secretive unit of pointy-heads from the Pentagon?

This audiobook includes an exclusive chapter from the next novel in the Jack Reacher series, Make Me.

straight into the action, then the investigation with the added intrigue of Reacher still being in the army plus the involvement of brother Joe, & all wrapped up in the time it takes for a decent bath.

A good story just far too short. I thought that the length was a typo, otherwise I would not have wasted a credit on it.
Sadly disappointed.

Would you listen to Small Wars again? Why?

No, I thought the narrator was terrible. Very monotone and he said she said.

Would you be willing to try another one of Kerry Shale’s performances?

No. I didn't like his narration and I cancelled the next book on Audio. I will go back to reading on my kindle for the next book so as not to spoil it.

Any additional comments?

I can't really tell if I liked the story because I didn't enjoy the voices. I shouldn't really have listened as I read all the other books in the series. Lesson learned.

Wish I had read it instead
