Great continuation from the first book with first class, engaging narration.

After enjoying the first audiobook in this series, this second helping has really ramped up the production values.
While some listeners may prefer a straight, dry reading, thus narrator characterises the characters within the story and maintains their characterisation throughout.
Some of the voices did make this reviewer laugh out loud, for example, the character of Elaine Fitzgerald sounding like a cross between Hyacinth Bouquet and Dame Hilda Bracket.
The sound effects and music do add feeling and depth to the listening experience without being too obtrusive.
Sometimes some slowing of the reading would be beneficial in building the tension whereas the narrator, on occasion, does get a little carried away and swept along with the action. However, this did not spoil the listening experience.
Looking forward to book three.

Final word to future potential listeners; if you prefer your audiobooks to be straight, dry readings then perhaps this isn't for you as it's full of effects, music and varied voices. Hats off to the production values as some scenes are more like an audio drama than a book reading.
