Set in a universe where time is a resource – coveted and exploited, the key to power and privilege – comes a dazzlingly inventive sci-fi fantasy romance by a bestselling Irish author.

Margo is on a train to a new boarding school when she slips into another dimension, passing from the height of Irish summer into the chill of an alien winter, from a 24-hour day to one that begins and ends in just six hours. From a stranger on the train – a travelling salesman by the name of Moon – she learns that New Davia is part of a world scarred by uprisings, travel bans and world sealings. Power is determined by time – who has it, who doesn’t, and who has the freedom to travel between time zones.

Can Margo find a way to get back home – or will she choose to stay in a world where her teenagehood is slipping away faster than ever before, but where she may have found the only person with whom she would choose to spend eternity?©2025 Caroline O'Donoghue (P)2025 W.F. Howes Ltd.

I loved this - great concept, dazzling details and characters that were likeable and who I rooted for. Chose it on a whim and tore through it - never done so much housework by choice LOL.

Fantastic world building!

Skipshock had me gripped, from reading the blurb to the first chapter I had an eagerness to find out what was happening. The premise of this novel is mind blowing, it's so good. The concept of not only different worlds within the world but different times too, The whole time moving differently etc had me fascinated. The writing had me captivated. I loved how it just played out in my mind as I listened. Margot and Moon were brilliant main characters, I really like how they connected, Margo seemed more laid back than I would have been though and I really thought that was a mature characteristic for a teenager.
The way this novel developed and progressed was engaging and really had me on the edge of my seat, I was eager to know if Margot would get back home to her time. The ending had my flabber truly gasted, My God! is there a book 2?! I need more.

A Brilliant story

Loved this , spent an hour after I finished thinking about who would have been the most suited actor to play Moon if this had of been a film, ended up seeing David Bowie sitting on trains between worlds.

Absolutely stunning concept, filled with brilliant, loveable characters……..there’s got to be a follow up…..this author is fast becoming one of my favourites on Audible , I’ve loved every one of hers on here.

Only slight problem with the narrator at the beginning of the book, thought she was a bit rushed and monotone……..better a few chapters in when she left a space around her reading….by the end I was loving her voice…..the voice makes such a huge difference to the unraveling of a story…….she hooked me in the second half ……..though the story was that good ……my drunken Geordie granny would have!

More please Caroline

I really enjoyed the whole book. The concept of time and domination of worlds and the raw real relationships of suffering peoples . Very relevant in the world as it is today x Thankyou

The amount of time and effort that went into writing this exciting book
