After having greatly enjoyed his work "El tiempo entre costuras" I hesitated a lot before acquiring this new novel (in audio) about the adventures of its protagonist, because I am a firm believer that sequels are hardly ever any good. I was wrong, this continuation of Sira's life full of adventures, satisfactions and disappointments, successes and errors, colorful characters all as interesting as the others is as good or even better than "El tiempo entre costuras" Magnificently written, María Dueñas is a brilliant author and even a great one. The in-depth research that she obviously carries out on all the topics she touches on is very appreciated, as it helps the reader to learn at the same time to greatly enjoys the story. Dueñas knows how to mix reality and fiction masterfully, making it perfectly clear which is one and which is the other. I really liked the narrator and I thank her with all my heart that when she interpreted the male roles she did not try to put on a male voice as so many others do, thus detracting, to my liking, from the story. I hope and hope that there will be a third part and in that case I will be more than eager to get it.
