Summary
Laura and Owen buy a secluded cottage on the edge of the Peak District. Old mines riddle the hills surrounding their new home and soon after moving in, Laura starts to hear faint snatches of birdsong. Her husband, wrapped up in his new job, is rarely around.
Nervous and alone, Laura fears she's developing tinnitus. Her doctor can find nothing wrong. Then an archaeological dig on a neighbouring hill unearths some disturbing finds...and Laura's life starts to become terrifying.

Nothing new to see here
Not really engrossing and certainly not tense/suspenseful. I did worry about the kitten a lot. Otherwise lots of familiar stuff. Not one of my favourites.

Nightmare or Warning?
So well written, so beautifully narrated. Loved every word. Walked every shaky step with Laura.

Great story line
An enjoyable book with a good story line. It takes a little time to get into it, but once you've got it, you will just need to listen to the end! Well worth a listen to.

Very enjoyable
Really enjoyed this book. Very scarey in parts! Took you down several different roads before the ending. Well written.

Quite a good tale!
I enjoyed this, between credits as it was free, it was a good story and well read. Got a little tedious towards the end however. I listen to a lot of free audio books (well I try to and usually switch them off within minutes). This had a nice cosy, ghost story vibe. Give it a try!

Enjoyable
The narration is spot on and the story enjoyable, it has the feel of a traditional ghost story, the pace is not fast, but I remained invested all the way through, was thoroughly spooked in places. Finding a good audiobook is so difficult, despite the huge selection nowdays, this is well worth a listen

entertaining story
over all the story is good and kept wanting to find out how it ends.
however I do have one criticism.
In the UK in current times it is almost impossible to get someone sectioned on mental health issues. I don't understand why so many writers like to follow the plot line that a husband is trying to get their wife sectioned. it spoils the story for me.

good in parts, bad in parts, indifferent as welll.
Well this book has a very powerful beginning and an equally powerful end. However, it is not without faults. the research is poor. A daycare centre in a village with a residential block as well? In England? You have to be joking. The author displays a similar lack of knowledge when it comes to cats and the emergency services. There are a few loose ends as well and the book gets kind of stodgey in the middle. The naration is poor. The reader tells the story as if she’s reading to a child. Not bad overall but far from perfect.

Creepy ghost story for snowy winter nights
What made the experience of listening to Sing Me to Sleep the most enjoyable?
I loved the story as I really enjoy stories about people moving to a creepy old house. It was really well-written, quite measured in its pace but beautifully atmospheric. I loved it.
Who was your favorite character and why?
There were not many characters in the book but I liked the main character, Laura. She came across as a sympathetic character and you cared what happened to her.
Have you listened to any of Becky Hindley’s other performances? How does this one compare?
no. I found it slightly too rushed but that is a minor criticism as overall I enjoyed the performance.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
dont want to add spoilers so I will just say the moment something disastrous happens to a younger person.
Any additional comments?
Loved it. Would like more from this author.
