Story
I pinch the screen to zoom until I’m staring at the face of a ghost. A man with very short hair, staring directly at the camera with piercing brown eyes. He is as he was when I last saw him: wrinkles around the corners of the eyes and a knowing smirk. That’s the expression I see when I can’t sleep. My body tenses. It can’t be him. It’s not my ex-husband. It’s not David. I know that better than anyone because he didn’t walk out on me. He didn’t disappear two years ago and he’s not a missing person. I know that for a fact because I’m the one who killed him.

Story
I began to suspect something was wrong with the gothic building when its family fled in the middle of the night, the children screaming, the mother crying. They never came back to pack up their furniture. A new occupant, Anna, has just moved in. I paid her a visit to warn her about the building. I didn't expect us to become friends, but we did. And now that Marwick House is waking up, she's asked me to stay with her. I never intended to become involved with the building or its vengeful, dead inhabitant. But now I have to save Anna.

Superb!!!!
Would you listen to Sing Me to Sleep again? Why?
Well it's 5·45am and I have been unable to sleep. This book is utterly captivating so captivating I've been listening to it all night!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Sing Me to Sleep?
I loved all of it, a true "horror story"
What does Becky Hindley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
The narration brought the story to life, and varied in accents and tones to add authenticity.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did listen to this book all evening and throughout the night.
Any additional comments?
A rose amongst thorns- one of the best books I've read in years!

good in parts, bad in parts, indifferent as welll.
Well this book has a very powerful beginning and an equally powerful end. However, it is not without faults. the research is poor. A daycare centre in a village with a residential block as well? In England? You have to be joking. The author displays a similar lack of knowledge when it comes to cats and the emergency services. There are a few loose ends as well and the book gets kind of stodgey in the middle. The naration is poor. The reader tells the story as if she’s reading to a child. Not bad overall but far from perfect.

Creepy ghost story for snowy winter nights
What made the experience of listening to Sing Me to Sleep the most enjoyable?
I loved the story as I really enjoy stories about people moving to a creepy old house. It was really well-written, quite measured in its pace but beautifully atmospheric. I loved it.
Who was your favorite character and why?
There were not many characters in the book but I liked the main character, Laura. She came across as a sympathetic character and you cared what happened to her.
Have you listened to any of Becky Hindley’s other performances? How does this one compare?
no. I found it slightly too rushed but that is a minor criticism as overall I enjoyed the performance.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
dont want to add spoilers so I will just say the moment something disastrous happens to a younger person.
Any additional comments?
Loved it. Would like more from this author.

Wish it was scarrier sooner.
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The story was a little slow to build up. But when it FINALLY did it was actually pretty creepy and sad.
Would you recommend Sing Me to Sleep to your friends? Why or why not?
I am a very impatient reader so this story was a little slow for me.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration was right on pace with this one.
Did Sing Me to Sleep inspire you to do anything?
No
