Summary

The Mount Trilogy concludes with Sinful Empire!

What's mine, I keep, and that includes Keira Kilgore.

It's no longer enough to have her in my debt. No longer enough to own her body.

I want something more.

She can try to resist, but I'll never give her up.

Nothing will keep us apart.

Not her. Not my enemies. No one.

Her debt will only be paid one way - with her heart.

Sinful Empire is the third and final book in the Mount Trilogy.

Surprisingly good!!!

This rewiew is for all 3 books in the Mount Trilogy. Inspired, sensual, crude, interesting with a fast pace and a well built storyline! I am so glad that I didn't pay that much attention to the negative review because I would have lost to one extremely good read! One of Meghan March's most authentic stories, with a very dynamic duo Mount and Kyra are a great match for each other and their love story is down to earth no fairy tale like but captivating! Definitely worth to read!

Note: It contains violence and sensitive language and subjects, not for the faint hearted but it definitely rewards the open minded who can appreciate it.

Fantastic!

Wowza! This gripping conclusion to the Mount Trilogy is just superb. I can’t say much as I don’t want to give away any spoilers... but that twist! It’s so exciting and I loved Lachlan and Keira’s journey. I highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed.

Totally Impressed!

I listened to the audio version and this book is still a +5 stars re-read for me. The narration was fantastic and perfectly executed by Grace Grant and Joe Arden!.

Meghan March is freakin’ amazing! She has written such fascinating, well developed characters and created a phenomenal story. This could not have been a more perfect conclusion for Lachlan and Keira’s story. LOVED every single bit of this book and the entire series blew me away. Yeah, this story has it all. The quality of writing, the depth of the characters, the passion between the leads, it was intense and sizzling hot. Sinful Empire is a wild ride that grabs you from page one and doesn't let go.

And Lachlan Mount….Oh. My. Goodness. What can I possibly say about the deliciousness that is Mount? He was everything I love and then some in a hero. Seriously sexy in that alpha, commanding sort of way. He was mega protective of Keira and so sweet and sensitive at times that he just melted my heart. I want to say that I enjoy how Meghan March didn't weaken Lachlan to fit a role. She also took the time to build him up, making it impossible to not love him. She also picked the perfect woman for him, a strong capable woman who refused to back down. Together, Lachlan and Keira were like dynamite, so perfectly matched and destined to be together.

"Before I let myself get drunk on her and the possibilities of the future, I need to answer her questions and tell her the truth. It’s time to show Keira just how black my soul is, and see if she’s going to run in the other direction. Which is exactly what she should do. »

"I’m the queen of a sinful empire, and I plan to spend the rest of my life beside its king."

Meghan March combines the best elements of action with the heart pounding romance that leaves you fanning yourself for hours. You are in for a real treat when you read a book by this woman.

Overall, one of the best series I've read this year and definitely a five-star, must-read winner!

Nice ending to the trilogy

No cliffhanger this time! An enjoyable, if a little on the far-fetched side, tale beautifully narrated by Grace Grant and Joe Arden.

This is a fairly new author for me and I love that these stories are hot but they also have great storylines.

I just love this series

The third and final instalment of the amount trilogy does not disappoint, what an ending, what a twist. I’ve loved this series from the get-go, both Keira and Lachlan are a couple who demand respect, I love how Keira steps up to the mark and makes her presence known alongside Mount. The story continues, as Mount tries to find who is responsible for trying to bring down his Empire, he’ll stop at nothing to protect Keira. With action, drama, intrigue and a few surprises added into the mix, Keira discovers her life may have been manipulated way before Mount entered her office that fateful day. I’ve loved every part of this trilogy, so sad for it to end. I’m going to miss listening to these narrators, they were the perfect Mount and Keira.

Complete review (book 1, 2 & 3)

I waited for all three books to be released before I started to listen to them because I know many of Meghan March"s books have a cliffhanger and I hate to wait too long for the next release. I know many people have a problem with cliffhangers and feel that the author should release as one book, but I just accepted it as...if you love March's books....It is what it is. Fortunately, she got each sequel out fairly quick.

With that being said, I have to admit that I love dark romances, so I was really excited about Lachlan Mount's story, especially since I completely devoured March's Beneath and Dirty Series. It was those books that got me addicted to listening to audiobooks because of the fabulous narrators and brilliant dialog that Meghan March uses in those books. Yet, I found that these three books did not reach that 5-star level that her other books did. ( I believe I gave 5 stars for all of the books in The Beneath and Dirty Series). Don't get me wrong, this was still a great story, but fell a bit short for me. I think this sometimes happens when someone falls in loves with an author's earlier works and compares them against those books. It does mean this is not a great story. It's just not my personal favorite.

Ruthless King started out strong and I was gripped by Mount's desire to control Keira and get her under his control. Mount is a true alpha who is hot and mysterious. Generally, a win-win for me. The sex scenes are off the charts sexy and definitely go beyond simple vanilla sex. Since this is a darker romance, there is not much true emotion for Mount or Keira at this point of the story. March eludes in her storytelling that Mount might have a bit of a BDSM preference. Yet, I would not even consider this a BDSM type of book. It's not that dark. In this book, March does an excellent job creating an interesting hero (if you can call him that) heroine and secondary characters. There are some mysterious twists and turns with some of the secondary characters which will ultimately affect the direction of the next two books. This book is definitely slanted more towards Mount's POV and Joe Arden is a perfect Mount (he is one of my favorite narrators). Yet, even though I read from other reviewers that Lachlan Mount is their dream book boyfriend, I personally think he is not for everyone. Even though I thought he was a sexy and deeply interesting, he would not be my favorite book boyfriend as compared to some of March's other books.

Defiant Queen was the real start of Mount and Keira's love story. This book was obviously more in Keira's POV and I do feel it was the sweetest part of the three book. Yet, it was my least favorite out of the three. Mount's decision to take Keira on her dream trip is a game changer because both Keira and Mount can let down their walls and start to really fall in love. Their get-away trip really changes the direction of the story because Mount and Keira start to remove their tough exteriors and they let some emotion into their twisted world. Unfortunately, for as much as I love gushy love stories, this audiobook was a bit slow for me. There was a lot of great sex scenes, but since I struggled with Grace Grant as a narrator, I wanted the story to move on since she was the prime narrator. Even though Grant does a good job as being the voice of a businesswoman extraordinaire, her voice as Mount and her "sexy voice" was somewhat of a turn-off for me. She comes across as whiny rather than sexy. I wish Joe Arden would have narrated more in this book.I believe if I would have read this book, rather than listened to the audio, I would have absolutely loved book 2 because I enjoy stories that have a dangerous alpha-like type hero who become sweet and tender to the woman he is falling in love with.

Sinful Empire was actually my favorite because March created all kinds of action, mystery, and drama. Plus, there are some hot sex scenes which have a deeper emotional element to them than books 1 and 2. March pulls everything together in this book to give you some great action, suspense and a Happily Ever Ending. This book was worth the wait because there are so many secrets that are revealed that make this book so much fun. Even though there was a great HEA, I did wonder how Keira was going to be a respected business owner when her husband (sorry spoiler) is basically the Mafia King of the New Orleans. Don't expect Mount to truly convert to being NOLA's citizen of the year. He is what he is.

If you are a fan of Meghan March, these books are a must-read. If you are new to Meghan March, I would recommend starting with the Beneath Series in order to fully appreciate Lachlan Mount's story since he is briefly in the Beneath Series. Overall: 4 to 4 1/2 stars and worth the purchase. Joe Arden: 5 stars Grace Grant: 3 1/2 stars.

A bit disappointed

I'm a bit disappointed. Meghan March is one of the my favourite authors and this is not her finest work. This feels like it was written on a haste and the female narrator is over dramatic. I was expecting a lot more.

Great 5-1/2 hour book.

I really liked this 5.5 hour book. It hooked me for the series.

That said, after finding the entire 3 book series was only around 16 hours, I did the math.

As it stands, 3 credits for 16 hours isn’t worth the investment.

Grace doing a male voice is awful! But book is great

If someone else had done the narrating instead of Grace listening to this book would have been so much more enjoyable. Her male voices (all the same voice for different men) are terrible. Joe did a great job.

I love Meghan March

I have read and listened to several of her series and they were all amazing. If you have not been introduced to this author yet get on it what are you waiting for you won't regret it. What I love most is that all of her books are related some how and go back to some of the other characters from her other series.

To short for a trilogy

This would have been a better read in 2 books. The story was good but not worth 3 credits. Honestly one book would have been sufficient. Because of the length and cost I will be skipping over Meghan March.

Can I owe Mount a debt?

I waited to write a review after reading all 3 books. I read other reviews and some of them were pretty harsh. Grace is not one of my favorite narrators, mainly bc I don't really care for her male voices, but she was not "horrible" like some of the reviews said. She did okay. The story was really good, though. It is one of my favorite tropes. Meghan wrote a love story that was definitely unconventional and there was a surprise twist at the end. So if you like dirty talking, alpha men with a dark past and a crazy obsession for the woman he loves, then read the book or listen to it! Joe Arden has a delicious voice and he is a fantastic Mount. I hate I waited so long to listen and I wish I could listen to it for the first time again. Mount and Keira's "no talking" first encounter at the masquerade ball was whew... fire!! It is one of my favorite parts bc it is such a fantasy. One that many women would probably never admit to having. Luckily, I took a chance and bought this during the awesome sale audible was having💜
