Lack of structure

There is a serious lack of structure to this story which gets highly irritating. Elements seem to be introduced randomly and chaotically and get further confused by the constant segweying into excessively descriptive sections.

The performance is generally good but when the male voice actor starts ranting it gets very tiresome and painful to listen to.

The actual story is pretty good but hampered by the above mentioned issues.

Brutally Epic

M.H. Johnson knocks it out of the park! Alex upgrades his skills in ways both interesting and awe inspiring. It has be be said that it is amazing how the skills keep getting upgraded, unlike in other novels where a low rank skill just dissapears and is never seen again. The fights are fluid, making the listener feel like they are right in the action. Reaching down the ethereal throats of his enemies and claiming the soul stones has to be one of the most epic feats. This was an amazing continuation of the series and I cannot wait to see what comes next. To Wayne Mitchell and Reba Buhr, thank you both for the energy you bring to this series. These books would not be the same without your voices.

WTF was that ending

The book was amazing, right until the last chapter. We got the smallest glimpse of what, in my opinion, is something all of us expected to happen in this book. Only to have it ripped away with a pointless ending and an even worse epilogue. VERY DISAPPOINTED in what I believe was a competent writer.

Super Engaging!!! Super Heavy

The flow of all these books are pretty similar as many other reviews point out but it is a system that works and continues to be engaging. My only major issue is that the narrator way over acts the evil characters in the book to the point that I have a negative emotional reaction to those characters. I would prefer that he tone it down about 30% for them. So basically it's the same plot, the same difficulties and the same structure for the story just with everything another step up the OP ladder. Which isn't really a bad thing.
