Summary

Siddhartha, figlio di un bramino, lascia la casa paterna accompagnato dall'amico Govinda, alla ricerca della verità assoluta, di una saggezza che si accordi totalmente con la vita umana. Dopo un lungo pellegrinare incontra Gotama detto il Buddha, l'Illuminato, colui che potrà essere il suo intermediario verso la saggezza. Siddhartha vorrebbe che gli insegnasse tutto, ma il Buddha non ha dottrine da diffondere: inviterà invece il figlio del bramino a prepararsi a tutte le esperienze. Una storia che ha segnato generazioni di lettori.
