About this listen

Three more nightmares to haunt your dreams....

A man takes shelter in an abandoned house, only to find that something hungers within. "Going Green" gets a whole new meaning when a shadowy evil haunts an eco-lodge. And a young boy's mother must protect him from a terrifying monster unleashed upon their home....

Scare Street is proud to present the best in bone-chilling supernatural horror. This volume contains three macabre morsels for your reading pleasure. These pulse-pounding tales are filled with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing until you reach the bitter end. And they’ll leave you wondering just how safe you really are, under the warm covers of your bed.

They say bad luck comes in threes. But that’s just a silly superstition...isn’t it?

I'd have probably found these slightly scary way, way back when I was an 11 year old reading The Pan Book of Horror Stories and similar books under the bedsheets at night. But only just.

The stories are short which is great when you only have a limited amount of time and don't want to start a full length novel but not very scary at all. I've read better and written several much scarier stories myself (in my humble opinion) for school essays 40+ years ago. These seem quite juvenile so maybe they had the same origins.

I also found it hard not to laugh then cringe at the narrator who, while he has a great reading voice, has no talent for voice acting. Each character sounded like the silly voices little kids used to put on when playing with dolls/action figures or other let's pretend characters. Impossible to take the stories seriously when the characters sound like strangled muppets.

Sorry, I didn't enjoy it much and it's very unlikely I'll listen to the rest of these "horror" collections in my Audible library.

I received a free copy of this audiobook either from the author or a promotion or giveaway and am voluntarily writing an honest and unbiased review.

Not remotely scary.
