About this listen

Amanda Harris presents her inspiring autobiography. Travel with her as she shares her life experiences from diagnosis of a visual impairment, at only a few weeks old, to becoming a successful business owner and motivational speaker. An honest, moving and funny story highlighting transformation from the only disabled child in the playground to a strong independent woman.

Along the way, Amanda includes practical information for those facing sight loss and their families, friends, colleagues and employers.

Amanda is often asked how she manages in everyday life and she wishes to dispel disability myths by answering some FAQs. Her answers are frank and humorous and will assist those who want to fully engage with people experiencing sight loss in their personal life or within their workplace.

She proves disability is no barrier to being successful and has blown the phrase: "She will never..." out of the water!

I am halfway through and I am really enjoying it. It’s so interesting and very insightful. It sheds light on not only what life is like to a partially sighted person but also the way the world perceives disability and sight differences. I love it.

I really loved this book and thexway in which Amanda narrates it.

I have been severely visually impaired since birth with nystagmus, aniridia, optici nerve hypoplasia and foveal hypoplasia. I am also now experiencing further deterioration on my eyesight due to keratopathu (corneal scarring) and cataracts. I feel this book gives a great insight in to the practical and emotional struggles of living with a visual impairment.

Amazing book!
