Story
The day my path crossed with Simon Fox I thought I’d already lost everything, but then he almost ran me off the road with his flash car and belittling jibes. The men in my life had undermined me for too long. Enough was enough. Fuelled by alcohol and the desire to get even, I decided a spot of petty vandalism would make me feel a whole lot better. Wrong. Very wrong. I hadn’t realised that Simon Fox was not a man to be messed with.

The white-washed Italian villa is perfect. I thought it might feel odd, living in a stranger’s house for the summer, but as my husband and children swim in the infinity pool, I start to relax. And then, in the back of a wardrobe, I find something that shatters everything.... Sparkling green eyes, square jaw, lopsided smile. A young man with his arm around a beautiful woman. The picture is old and faded, but I’d recognize him anywhere. The man is my husband.

Summary
She Knows is a tangled and twisty psychological suspense thriller from the author of the number one best seller His Wife’s Sister.
Sky is convinced a woman she met in tears on the beach is in desperate danger. After all, the abuse is all spelled out in the diary she dropped when she fled. But when Sky tries to rescue Esme Winters from her violent and controlling husband, she stubbornly rejects Sky’s offer of help. Because it’s not her husband she’s frightened of. Esme has a bigger secret to hide and will stop at nothing to protect her lies - even if that means sacrificing Sky’s life to save her own....

Such a great opening!
This book has such a great opening, it sucks you straight into the story. A woman crying on the beach leaves behind a black diary and the young girl who finds it is torn between her overwhelming desire to help this poor woman and not wanting to pry into her private thoughts. So, she’ll just read a few pages…right? Just so she can return the diary.
It quickly becomes clear that the woman is in an abusive relationship and because her mother suffered the same, Sky can’t help but step in and help her break free. Who wouldn’t? Only Sky is young and naive and in trying to help this woman, finds herself trapped in a dark and mysterious web. The author pitched Sky’s age just right so that naivety forms part of her sympathetic character.
I didn’t want the story to end, had to know what happened next and finished this in a day. Great story, great narration, what more can you ask for?
I love the pace and snappy style of Wills’ writing so I’ll be buying all of his books now.
