About this listen

Five old school friends reunited for a weekend in Sheffield. A drunken game of truth or dare. One won't survive.

The young woman is found murdered in a swanky hotel room. Detective Claudia Nunn gets the text just as she leaves her therapist's office.

The victim's friends all say the same thing: she had been distracted and kept disappearing all weekend. And on the Saturday, someone had screamed abuse in her face.

Did she know her killer?

As Claudia closes in on the murderer, the top-brass start closing down the investigation. And the team become the target of violent attacks.

Someone will do anything to stop the truth getting out.

Prepare to be hooked.

This unpauseable crime thriller is perfect for fans of Helen H. Durrant, Rachel Abbott, Biba Pearce, Angela Marsons and L.J. Ross.

Ok so I had forgotten how little I thought of the first book. I bought this mistaking it for another series. I could remember nothing referred to when previous plot was brought up. That's what I thought of that one.
Also. she's a bit insufferable isn't she? Treats her dad who is a colleague - reminder conflict of interest - abysmally. Shouts at him. Rude. Sarcastic. kept thinking her poor dad needs to give her a good shake.

Plot is bit dragged out. Few silly errors like referring to getting clothes in 'HMV' and using Maxine Carr as a name for a character is a bit unfortunate.
Also Spoiler for some. This plot touches on grooming allegations in which I feel was handled very insensitively. With the character hearing these allegations, whined about herself. That made my blood boil.

Over all. An ok plot. But like the previous book. Forgettable and long winded.

I tried to give this series a second chance
