About this listen

Listen to the instant New York Times bestseller and TikTok sensation - the new swoon-worthy hate-to-love rom com from #1 New York Times bestselling co-author of Five Feet Apart Rachael Lippincott and debut writer Alyson Derrick. The perfect summer listen for fans of Adam Silvera, Casey McQuiston, Becky Albertalli and Alice Oseman's Heartstopper series!

Alex and Molly are two girls who don’t belong on the same planet, let alone the same college campus...

Alex Blackwood is a little bit headstrong, with a dash of chaos and a whole lot of flirt. She knows how to get the girl. Keeping her on the other hand...not so much.

Molly Parker has everything in her life totally in control, except for her complete awkwardness with just about anyone besides her mum. She knows she’s in love with the impossibly cool Cora Myers. She just...hasn’t actually talked to her yet.

When the girls' paths cross unexpectedly, and Alex discovers Molly’s hidden crush, they realise they might have a common interest after all. Because maybe if Alex can help Molly to get her dream girl, she can prove to her ex that she’s serious about love.

As the two embark on their five-step plans to get their girls to fall for them, though, they both begin to wonder if maybe they’re the ones falling...for each other.

It might be a cliche romance but i don't care, it was lovely in every way!

I liked the main characters and could relate to their struggles.
It was truly refreshing to see their ability to see their own flaws and willingness to learn and change.

It's a feel-good read/listen and a healthy portrait of love.

Loved it

I love how this book looks at so many things like cultural dysmorphia, generational cultural identity difference, LGBTQIA+, financial struggles, alcoholism (so TW before reading) and also the reversal parenting relationship in some families (children looking after parents for whatever reason it may be) to be able to look at these and bring into a context that makes it feel relatable and easy to read. it is great to have something like this out there to not only to educate others about what life is like for some but also for the people that parts are relatable that they feel represented and heard and that they are not alone.

The story line overall is a pretty good love story of the chase of love, the ending was a bit rushed, and I would have liked it to be extended more due to the amount of build up to that moment and then it being so small then stopping but none the less a wonderful short YA love story.

welp now I feel lonely... lovely YA love story

I absolutely loved this book! The story was beautiful and both narrators were fantastic. I knew it would probably be good because I loved "Five Feet Apart", but I didn't expect it to be as brilliant as it was. My only issue with it was I didn't want it to end. In fact, I want a sequal. I wish there had been a YA story like this when I was a teenager and young closeted lesbian.

A beautiful & emotional story of young love!
