Carsick Kincaid runs a shelter in his hometown but that was not the plan. He wanted more instead he has a criminal record and a lot of resentment. Shiloh West has it all she’s a supermodel living life hard so hard and dangerous she takes a friends life. Now faced with the consequences of her actions she is forced back to her home town to work at Carrick’s shelter. They have history and the resentment is at a high but there was love also. This story is about that second chance at life and love. I cried for,both characters and I shook my head at their stupid actions. Really enjoyed this book

I really loved Sarah Puckett and Gregory Salinas playing the roles for Cary and Shiloh in this book. they did such an amazing job. the angst in this just really hit it home for me and man, the ups and downs were hard!!! I loved seeing Shiloh become less "shallow" and real. The love was just awesone in this. This was a great listen though and honestly anything from Cora Kenborn is a win for me.

I listen to a lot of books, and I love many of them! Every so often one of them tugs at my heart due to the subject matter. This was one of those books.

This beauty is in the eye of the beholder, beauty is only skin deep story was truly a 5 star story.

Shiloh left her home town 7 years ago to model in LA. After her impaired driving causes the death of her best friend, the court ordered community service brings her home. She is scarred both physically and emotionally. She is assigned to the center owned by the man whose life she ruined before she left.

Carrick was an honor student who was headed to med-school on a full scholarship. That ended the night of their high school graduation when a mother accident and Shilohs selfishness causes him to lose everything, and spend two years behind bars. He has spent 7 years hating her for that, and has plans to make her pay for it while she does her time volunteering at his center.

I was drawn by this story from the very start. Shiloh, at first, comes across as a self centered, spoiled little rich girl… but as you get to know her, you can see her insecurities. As to he story, and the back-story unfold, her true self comes to the forefront and you get to know what she is really like.

Cora Kenborn wrote an amazing book that goes more than skin deep. And Sarah Puckett and Gregory Salinas brought the characters to life and made them real!!! It is excellent and I recommend it highly!!!

This is a beautiful book. With mistakes made by both H & h, it’s a big ask for forgiveness. A brilliant performance from both Sarah and Gregory really helps you bond to these characters.

Cora Kenborn never ceases to amaze me with her talent to bring a story I can’t put down. This stand alone book features Shiloh and Cary. They have known each other since what seems like forever and circumstances and bad choices has separated them for several years. Choices led to Shiloh’s success and Cary’s demise. He is finally building his life and business and who shows up in town? Anger and resentment are strong on both sides, guilt and remorse that need attending. Kenborn masterfully pens their course with bumps and bruises, forgiveness and passion. Their brokenness can only be fixed together and what a journey to get there. It’s gritty and raw, full of emotions and had me captivated as I listened.

Her choice of narrators enhanced her story immensely. Sarah Puckett is a master at expressing feelings and her voice for Shiloh is perfect. A little snarky at times, but always full of emotions. Gregory Salinas helps Cary navigate his way with Shiloh. An array of nuances gives Cary that feeling of conflicting emotions and it’s all spot on. I loved these two telling us this story.
