About this listen

Imani has managed to build a stable home for his people, keeping it safe and hidden in the mountains. Now he wishes to upgrade his growing settlement of Silverfall into a Dukedom by recruiting more people and amassing enough strength to defend them all. Unfortunately, forging an alliance with his old hometown proves harder than he expected thanks to greedy leaders, a bubbling civil war, and the town’s instability.

When word of Imani’s new Dukedom spreads, it draws the attention of the two most powerful nations on the land. The militaristic country of humans that ruthlessly weaponizes war to force growing settlements into becoming part of their empire, and the elven kingdom responsible for both the death of Imani's father and the destruction of his beloved Taisarin's old tribe, set their sights on Silverfall.

Caught between two hostile giants, Imani’s leadership skills will be tested like never before as he and Taisarin race to turn their warriors into a real army before war comes to their gates. His focus is no longer on if he can build a kingdom for his people, but whether he can protect it when the vultures come to take it away.

Honestly this series really annoys me and it's not because it's bad, quite the opposite. Overall the story being told and the systems in place to make the world work are interesting, the only problem for me is the mc. He just irritates me, not only is he impulsive despite having a card that should make him more rational, but he also constantly disregards what his people say despite agreeing with their reasonings for preventing him from doing certain actions.

If only the mc could have some more character development in being at least a bit more rational and more considerate of his actions this would be a much better series.

Annoying
