Summary

Everyone has their secrets...and their cravings.

A violent and bloody past...

A rocky and dangerous present...

A terribly uncertain future...

Birchton was a last resort for Mia. She’s not sure what drew her here. Maybe it was because it’s far away from the man who tried to kill her? Or because she’s longed to be back in the wilderness once again? Or was it the fact that her long-lost friend has suddenly appeared back in her life?

There’s something about Rowan that shakes her to the core, especially when he touches her for the first time. She knows there’s an animal inside of him, but can she handle his incredible thirst to mate with her?

Loved it

Joshua Schubart Is the narrator for this lovely book.
Amelia Wilson is an amazing writer.
I loved the characters Rowan and Mia. Story flowed really well, with a few twists and turns in this story.
Rowan and Mia grew up together, but a serious attack on Rowan during their teens, led to him leaving her alone.
This story is filled with secrets, betrayal, frustration, despair and self-hatred, as well as lots of shifter romance.

Great story

This was a great story. Weill written with wonderful characters. The narration is staccato and choppy, but still well worth the listen!

MISTAKES ARE HORRIBLE IF YOU DON’T LEARN FROM THEM

I received this audio book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Mia and Rowan were childhood best friends until a savage wolf attack took Rowan away. Mia’s life became one mistake after the other while she searched for her best friend. Rowan has changed his life and is in hiding trying to forget his huge accidental mistake.

They reunite by accident while Mia is running for her life. Rowan can’t figure out how to tell Mia his secret which leads her into making another huge mistake. They go on the run.

This story shows how hard admitting one’s mistakes and going forward to become better can alter one’s life immensely. I loved the way, Mia figured out what she had to do and how Rowan came through in the end.

The narration was boring and couldn’t get me excited while there was a lot of activity to be vocalized. It was too monotoned. I give it a 3.5.

This is a good book. The narration however...

Narration leaves a lot to be desired! I'm in the middle of this book, but it is hard to finish due to the narration. I will try to power through because I'm loving the story line. I will edit my review when/if I finish.

Good story

Seeking the Alpha is a good story about Rowen and Mia who have been friends almost all of their lives. They weren't just friends, they were also neighbors and one couldn't be found without the other. One fateful day, a band of wolves attacked and things would never be the same again. The last Mia saw of Rowen, he was battered and bloodied as his father yelled for the ambulance. After 15 years, Mia has left her abusive boyfriend and is finding a place to hide out when she spots a man in a diner who reminds her of Rowen. Turns out it is, but Rowen has a secret that warns him to stay away from his best friend Mia. Of course they reunite and it should be a happy occasion, but Rowen is sure that she'll be disgusted by what he's become. The plot was just a little thin, some of the characters weren't fleshed out, but the main characters are well done.
Joshua Schubart did the narration and it was a little difficult to listen to. His tone of voice is nice, but the delivery is choppy and without much modulation.

Good story, bad narration

I liked Mia and Rowan's story, but it really needs a new narrator because this one is awful. He is really bad and it makes it hard to listen to the book. He uses very little inflection and there are a few places where he starts a sentence over again and it was never edited out. I would recommend reading the ebook version.

Mia and Rowan were best friends when they were children. They did everything together including walking home from school. One day they are attacked by wolves and Rowan stays to allow Mia to escape. That is the last time she sees him for many years. She has become involved with a bad guy who abuses her and she finally gets away from him and is hiding in a small town.

Rowan was turned into a werewolf as a child and his parents moved him away from his hometown and has best friend. He has always felt bad that he wasn't there for her as they grew up. He still does not have his wolf under control and he has fled the only pack that tried to help him. When he sees Mia in the town near where he is hiding and she manages to get herself arrested, he jumps in to help her escape the werewolf deputies. But now he has to admit what he has become and hope she will not flee. Then they find out that her ex is after her and his old pack manages to find him. Now what do they do?

I was given a copy of this audio book by the author. My review is voluntary.
