Summary

From the best-selling author of Queen of Cowboy: Regrets and old heartbreaks are unearthed in this sweeping love story as hometown sweethearts get a second chance at love - and being a family.

Retired combat medic Jesse Ryan hasn’t been home much since he enlisted 20 years ago. Now he’s headed back to Texas to help take care of his aging foster parents and run Sunflower ranch. But when he gets there, he finds his parents’ live-in nurse is Addison Hall, his high school best friend and the woman he always regretted leaving behind after their one steamy night together before he shipped out. He’s not at all surprised that their chemistry is still sparking, but Jesse is shocked to learn Addy gave birth to a little girl about nine months after he left - his little girl.

Addy has her hands full as a single mom of a 19-year-old daughter who suddenly wants to rebel at everything. The last thing she needs is Jesse Ryan complicating her life even further, especially since she’s always had a crush on the handsome cowboy. But the more time she spends with Jesse, the more she wonders what might happen if they finally let their friendship blossom into something more and became the family she’d always hoped for.

Carolyn Brown does it again!

Welcome to Sunflower Ranch. The first in a series about the three adopted prodigal Ryan sons, this book introduces us to Jesse Ryan, an Air Force medic that has left the service to come back home and run the ranch. In typical Carolyn Brown style, the love story unfolds, all the while introducing the characters we will see in future books of the series. While I enjoyed the book and the different personalities of each character we are introduced to, the narrator of the book was painful at times to listen to. It sounded forced and didn't flow as well as other narrators. Regardless, I can't wait for the next book!

Thank you for our cowboy stories back

I have been missing these stories and characters by c. Brown. I love a wholesome story! Intimate scenes that spare details. I was annoyed with the daughter character but I guess thats how the author intended. I cant wait for the next book in this series!!!

Story-okay, Narrator-horrible!

The narrator was so distracting that I'm not sure how good the actual story was. She was not good with male voices and it felt rushed throughout the whole book. the story line was okay but it could have been much better with a better narrator. Not sure that I'll listen to the next one if the narrator is the same.

A Nice, Easy Listen

I love this listen for two reasons. First, it's just a sweet listen about rekindled love. Second, the story is set in my stomping grounds - Bonham, Honey Grove, and Surrounding Areas, Texas. I enjoyed listening and hearing the names of local landmarks and events and thinking, "Yep. I know that one, too."

Do warm and fuzzy but a very sexy story

I
Love how Carolyn Brown’s characters go to church and make old traditional recipes. I love the cowboy’s southern gentleman behavior. I just love it all. The narrator was a bit robotic
