RO: Cartea îi este dedicată lui Mihail Sebastian, autor al criticatului roman “De două mii de ani” căruia i se interzice în 1940 dreptul de a scrie pentru Revista Fundațiilor Regale datorită faptului că era evreu. Liiceanu face o aluzie la persecuția la adresa sa din perioada comunismului și chiar îl consideră un frate de cruce în mod simbolic în cadrul unui eveniment organizat de Federația Comunității Evreiești din România în 1997. El reușește să traseze o paralelă între fascism și comunism în felul acesta, ceea ce i-a adus foarte multe critici.
